Extracurricular tutoring,as a bridge linking school education,home schooling and social education,plays a complementary and auxiliary role in on-campus education.In recent years,researches on extracurricular tutoring have gradually shifted from the phenomenon of "tutoring fever" to the influence of tutoring on primary school students.Chen Baosheng,Minister of Education,mentioned in his remarks at the 2021 National Education Work Conference,"Great efforts should be made to rectify off-campus training institutions,for reducing the burden on students and families,liberating students from off-campus tutoring,and alleviating parents’ burden on sending children and accompanying to institutions."The extracurricular tutoring in the paper mainly refers to the one that are established outside schools and aims at improving primary school students’ Chinese,math,English and other related cultural lessons.Through literature,questionnaires for investigating the students of the selected three schools in Jinzhou and interviews to understand parents’ inner thoughts,the study collects and sorts out existing data for forming the basic framework of the paper and laying the theoretical foundation for the study,and profoundly analyzing this phenomenon in combination with the survey results.The paper is divided into five parts.Firstly,the relevant theories of primary school students participating in extracurricular tutoring are introduced.Then,through the status investigation of students participating in extracurricular tutoring,the paper conducts analysis from five dimensions: motivation,attitude,form,effect and type.Furthermore,through analysis,problems including the overloading intensity exceeding students’ acceptance,parents’ lack of thorough understanding of tutoring institutions and neglect of children’s ideas,and the serious utilitarian orientation of tutoring institutions,are found.Then,it analyzes the causes and formation process of the problems existing in primary school students’ extracurricular tutoring.Eventually,the current background of education and teaching is reflected and the suggestions for rational participation in extracurricular tutoring are provided,enlightening that we should rationally view the role of extracurricular tutoring,establish a correct concept on tutoring.To a certain extent,the paper makes up for the deficiency of primary school students’ rational participation in extracurricular tutoring,and opens up a new path from the perspectives of theory and practice,leading education back to its true value.Meanwhile,it provides a systematic ideology and an innovated perspective for students and parents in participating in extracurricular tutoring,and offers references for to-be-teachers to conduct on-campus teaching activities. |
