| Under the background of "Double First-Class" construction,the role of university discipline leaders is becoming more and more prominent in discipline construction.How to better play the role of university discipline leaders and make them lead the development of disciplines with high quality is an important issue of great concern in the theory and practice of higher education.From the current situation,the understanding of the leadership of university discipline leaders is not clear,and its internal structure is not clear,which creates obstacles to theoretical research and practical work.Theory and practice call for the study of leadership of university discipline leaders.The purpose of this study is to explore the leadership structure of university discipline leaders.In view of the organizational characteristics of University disciplines,and drawing on the viewpoint that the process of university discipline construction is actually the process of organizational transformation,this paper uses transformational leadership theory to study the leadership of university discipline leaders.On the basis of theoretical analysis,this paper compiles the 《Questionnaire on the Leadership of University Discipline Leaders》,and then makes a survey of 36 universities in Beijing area,and confirms the leadership structure of university discipline leaders through empirical research.The results are as follows:1.The leadership of university discipline leaders is a specific five-dimensional structure,including: idealized influence,inspirational motivation,virtue model,resource integration and high performance standard.2.The organizational characteristics of university discipline leaders(university type,first-class discipline)have no significant impact on the leadership of university discipline leaders and its all dimensions.The personal characteristics of university discipline leaders have a significant impact on their leadership and its related dimensions.Among them,the age of university discipline leaders has a significant impact on the leadership of university discipline leaders and its all dimensions;The discipline background of university discipline leaders has a significant impact on the dimension of idealized influence;The administrative level of university discipline leaders has a significant impact on the dimension of high performance standard.3.The overall level of the leadership of university discipline leaders is good.Although the research object are mainly in the Beijing area,the survey results can reflect the basic level of the leadership of university discipline leaders to some extent.Overall,the leadership of university discipline leaders and its all dimensions are in the upper middle level.Among them,the score of idealized influence is the highest,the score of high performance standard is the lowest. |
