| According to the 47th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China released by China Internet Network Information Center,as of December 2020,the number of Internet users in China has reached 986 million,among which students account for 21.0%,which is the largest group.For students,the Internet is a double-edged sword.While it brings convenience to life,excessive use of the Internet also produces many negative effects,among which the most noticeable is the problem of "problematic Internet use".Research shows that problematic Internet use behavior will have a serious negative effect on adolescent’s brain function,academic performance,physical health and life adjustment.Therefore,as a serious social problem,problematic Internet use behavior has been widely concerned by scholars at home and abroad.The subject of this study was to discuss the relationship between social anxiety and problematic Internet use among high school students and the mediating effect of fear of missing out(FOMO),and explore more effective group counseling programs to alleviate FOMO in high school students.Studies a "adolescent social anxiety scale","miss fear scale" and "adolescent pathological Internet use scale" to a high school in wuhan city,786 high school students(mean age 15.55 years;SD=0.63)were asked to examine the association between social anxiety,fear of missing out,and problematic Internet use.On the basis of one study,24 subjects with high scores of missed and problem networks were selected,12 as the control group and 12 as the experimental group,the group of 12 subjects on miss fear group counseling intervention,while the control group don’t contact with the related content,with analysis and discussion on the group guidance for high school students have lost the fear problematic Internet use intervention has significant effect.Specific results are as follows:1.In terms of gender,the levels of social anxiety and fear of missing out were significantly higher in female students than in male students;In terms of grade,the level of problematic Internet use of Grade 2 students is significantly higher than that of Grade 1 students.In the area of origin,the scores of fear of missing out were significantly higher for students from towns than for students from rural areas.Levels of FOMO are higher among only childrenIn terms of family income,students with higher family income had lower scores for social anxiety and problematic Internet use.2.There is a significant positive correlation between social anxiety,fear of missing out and problematic Internet use in high school students.3.FOMO played a partially mediating role in the relationship between social anxiety and problematic Internet use among senior high school students.4.After eight weeks of group assisted intervention for fear of missing out,students’scores on fear of missing out and problematic Internet use were significantly lower than their pre-test level,while there was no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the control group,but there was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the post-test scores.This suggests that FOM-based group counseling interventions developed in this study can effectively reduce the level of problematic Internet use in senior high school students.The results of this study reveal the relationship between social anxiety and problematic Internet use and the mediating role of fear of missing out in it,and provide a feasible intervention plan for the prevention and intervention of problematic Internet use in high school students. |
