| For children with intellectual disabilities,adolescent sex education is very important.For a long time,the general public defines children with intellectual disabilities as a group with immature sexual functions and believes that they do not have sexual instincts and sexual impulses.This kind of cognition ignores the nature of mentally handicapped children who are also human and also grow and develop.Like ordinary children,they will also have the development of secondary sexual characteristics,and they will also have dim sexual awareness and sexual needs.However,limited by traditional thinking and mental skills,they cannot acquire sexual knowledge autonomously like ordinary children.They can only be guided by teachers and parents to solve various problems in adolescence.Therefore,children with intellectual disabilities need sex education more than ordinary children.This article is based on the research on sex education and teaching of children with intellectual disabilities,understands the current status of sex education for children with intellectual disabilities,through teaching experiments,helps more children with intellectual disabilities obtain corresponding education,optimizes sex education courses for children with intellectual disabilities,and meet the needs of sex education and teaching for mentally retarded children.In this study,20 children with intellectual disabilities aged between 11 and 17 years of adolescence in Z City Special Education School were selected as the research objects,and the corresponding teaching experiment was carried out on them.The research was explored and analyzed from the three aspects of the subjects’ sexual behavior,self-protection awareness and mastery of sexual knowledge.Before and after the experiment,sex education tests were carried out,and children’s sexual behavior performance,self-protection awareness and sex knowledge mastery were scored by teachers and parents.After sex education experiment,the scores of sexual behavior performance and self-protection consciousness decreased,indicating that the mentally handicapped children’s inappropriate sexual behavior was effectively improved,and the self-protection consciousness was improved.The percentage of sexual knowledge mastery increased,indicating that the mentally impaired children’s mastery of sex knowledge was improved.In the experiment of sex education,teaching methods such as intuitive teaching,situational experience,self-expression and reading sex education picture books were adopted to carry out experimental exploration,and sex education courses were carried out from four aspects:the mystery of the body,where I came from,sexual assault prevention and sexual relationship management.The results showed that:1.The average score of sexual behavior of children with intellectual disabilities decreased,the score of parents decreased from 12.3 points to 7.35 points,and the score of teachers decreased from 11.25 points to 7.85 points;2.The awareness of self-protection of children with intellectual disabilities has improved.The score of parents has decreased from 15.2 points to 8.05 points,and that of teachers has decreased from 14.5 points to 7.7 points;3.Knowledge of sex increased by an average of 3.6 percent among children with intellectual disabilities.The comprehensive analysis shows that children with intellectual disabilities have certain sexual exposure behavior,can not accurately control their own behavior in life,the sense of self-protection is weak,the knowledge of sex is less,there is a certain sexual impulse.The implementation of sex education courses can play a certain role in promoting sex education for children with intellectual disabilities.It can effectively reduce their acceptance of other misinformation,and improve their sexual performance,self-protection awareness and knowledge of sex.Sexual performance and self-protection awareness have a greater impact.In the process of carrying out sex education teaching in special education schools,researchers have encountered some problems,such as insufficient attention of parents to sex education,insufficient knowledge of teachers on sex education and the lack of systematicness in experimental teaching.Therefore,this paper puts forward some measures for reference from such aspects as strengthening home-school cooperation,carrying out related training for parents and teachers,developing school-based textbooks for sex education in special education schools,strengthening the connection between general schools and special schools,and carrying out sex education teaching and research activities. |
