| Academic procrastination is accompanied by academic anxiety,which seriously affects the growth and development of students.So how can you reduce procrastination? Studies have found that self-compassion is a powerful psychological force,which can promote the development of individual positive psychological capital and reduce anxiety.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among academic procrastination,self-compassion and academic anxiety,and to reduce academic procrastination and academic anxiety through self-compassion training,so as to provide theoretical and methodological basis for practical education and school mental health education.A survey of 443 junior high school students was conducted by using self-report method.The results are as follows :(1)Junior high school students’ academic procrastination,self-compassion and academic anxiety are in the middle level.(2)There are no significant gender and grade differences in academic procrastination and self-compassion among junior high school students.Boys have higher academic anxiety than girls,and junior high school students have higher academic anxiety than other grades.(3)Academic procrastination was negatively correlated with self-compassion,positively correlated with academic anxiety,and negatively correlated with self-compassion and academic anxiety.(4)Self-compassion was a negative predictor of academic procrastination,and academic anxiety played a partial mediating role between academic procrastination and self-compassion.(5)After 7 weeks of self-compassion training for Grade One students,the data showed that the self-compassion score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group,the scores of academic procrastination and academic anxiety were significantly lower than that of the control group,the self-compassion score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the pre-test,and the scores of academic procrastination and academic anxiety were significantly lower than that of the pre-test.According to Neff’s self-compassion theory,the following educational countermeasures are proposed:(1)To improve the ability of self-compassion;(2)Relieve academic anxiety. |
