Cultural self-confidence is a more basic,deeper and more lasting force in the development of a country and a nation.For contemporary college students who are the main force in national construction and development in the new era,they should have a high degree of cultural awareness and cultural self-confidence in their own culture.Among them,the red culture is an integral part of the excellent culture of the Chinese nation,and the red books are one of the important forms of spreading the red culture.Therefore,in the context of promoting universal reading,guiding college students to read red books is of great significance to understand the red culture and enhance cultural self-confidence.Based on this,this article takes the university student group in Hubei Province as the research object,and uses literature research,questionnaire survey,in-depth interviews and other methods to study the status and promotion strategies of college students’ red book reading.First,referring to the existing historical documents and combining the new era background,the concept of "red books" is defined,and the red book reading and the determination of college students are discussed.The relationship between cultural self-confidence:(1)Red books contain the essence of traditional Chinese culture,which is the root of cultural self-confidence;(2)Red books use literary methods to explain part of the core values of society,which are the condensing of cultural self-confidence(3)The stories and creation subjects of the red books are the masses of the people,and this is also the subject requirement of cultural self-confidence.Secondly,through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews,the cognition,attitude and behavior of college students in Hubei Province on reading red books were investigated,and found that the problems existing in the reading of red books by college students in Hubei Province are:(1)Fuzzy perception of the red books themselves;(2)The utilitarian purpose of reading is greater than interest-driven;(3)The attitude towards red books is separated from the actual reading behavior;(4)There is a lack of red book reading promotion activities that college students love to see.Next,combining in-depth interview materials and the opinions of interviewed experts and scholars,the deep-seated reasons for the above problems are analyzed from the three dimensions of the party and government,social media,colleges and universities,and individual college students,and proposed to promote college students’ reading of red books to cultivate national cultural self-confidence Development strategy:(1)The party and the government are in a dominant position,and related systems and top-level designs are improved;(2)Social media enriches the forms of publicity and promotion,communicates and connects various subjects to jointly promote the spread of red culture;(3)Colleges and universities strengthen their value-leading role and build a red book sharing platform;(4)College students develop their own reading habits and improve their awareness and initiative to understand national culture.Finally,summarize the research findings and conclusions of this article,objectively expound the desirability and practical significance of the thesis,and reflect on the deficiencies in the process of research and writing the thesis,and propose directions and methods that can be considered for further research on related topics in the future.
