The napping activity is an indispensable part of kindergarten daily life.Napping can promote children’s physical development, functional recovery and emotional stability.Going to the toilet, wearing, undressing, sleeping position and making the bed involved in napping activities can develop children’s good living habits.Teacher-child interaction in napping activities can guide children to form good living habits, promote the development of children’s self-care ability and self-consciousness,and form a positive teacher-child relationship. In this study, teachers and children in primary, middle and senior class of kindergarten are taken as the research objects. The behaviors of teachers and children are coded, and the Lag Sequential Analysis is used as the main method to explore the specific process and results of teacher-child interaction in napping activities. The overall situation of teacher-child interaction in napping activities, the status quo of teacher-child interaction in different age classes, different napping stages and children of different genders are described and analyzed respectively.Based on the results of data analysis, several problems of teacher-child interaction in napping activities are found: teachers have too much negative behaviors, which leads to children’s resistance;teachers neglect children’s needs, which triggers children’s bad emotions and behaviors;teachers have too much controlling instructions, which is not conducive to the cultivation of children’s autonomy.Combined with on-the-spot observation and interview, causes of the problems are analyzed from three aspects.(1)In terms of teachers: lack a comprehensive understanding of teacher-child interaction in napping activities;lack of active and effective measures to deal with the problems of napping.(2)In terms of kindergartens: children’s age differences and individual differences are ignored;class sizes are too large, which lowers the teacher-child ratio.(3)In terms of families: unreasonable work and rest schedule;do not pay attention to the cultivation of children’s self-care ability.According to the research results, combined with the reason analysis, some corresponding suggestions are put forward.(1)For teachers: change teachers’ role positioning and give play to children’s dominant position;pay attention to the needs of children, then get involved timely and actively;improve the ability of teacher-child interaction in napping activities;take appropriate interactive strategies for different ages of children.(2)For kindergartens: pay attention to age differences and shorten the napping time of senior classes;pay attention to individual differences and arrange activities flexibly;mobilize resources in kindergartens and carry out helping activities by children from senior classes.(3)For families: establish a reasonable working and rest time, keeping the family and kindergarten consistent;pay attention to the cultivation of self-care ability and advocate self-service.
