Tai chi is a perfect combination of the dialectical theoretical thinking of the Chinese nation with martial arts, art, guidance and traditional Chinese medicine.Tai chi takes tai chi and the dialectical concept of yin and yang as the core idea, which has the functions of self-cultivation and physical fitness. In the past, the evaluation of effect of tai chi is often from the perspectives of martial arts, health science, psychology and medicine.Researches on brain function, electrophysiology and other aspects of tai chi mostly focus on the brain mechanism of brain aging and cognitive dysfunction, and the research objects are mostly middle-aged and elderly people. However, practicing tai chi also has a positive impact on the physical and mental health of teenagers. Therefore, this paper takes college students as the research object and constructs brain function network through EEG signals for analysis. In this way,we can understand the effect of tai chi on human brain function. It provides a new angle for the quantitative evaluation of tai chi,and also provides scientific significance for the promotion of tai chi.(1)25 subjects in tai chi group were recruited, and 25 age and gender matched control subjects were recruited. The data acquisition of all subjects was completed, and the collected signals were preprocessed.(2)Based on the phase-locked value method,we constructed the functional brain network of two groups of subjects. The statistical analysis method of nonparametric permutation test is used to detect the significance of the differences between groups.Pearson correlation coefficient was used to measure the linear correlation between response time and global characteristics,as well as positive psychological capital questionnaire scores and local characteristics.(3)The global characteristics of resting state brain functional network in tai chi group and control group were analyzed. The results show that: within the selected sparsity range, the differences of small-world attribute, clustering coefficient, characteristic path length, global efficiency and local efficiency between tai chi group and control group were significant in alpha frequency band.Subsequently, the results of the two groups of subjects under all single sparsity in alpha frequency band showed that the small-world attribute, clustering coefficient, global efficiency and local efficiency of the tai chi group had a higher trend, while the characteristic path length had a shorter trend.(4)The local characteristics of resting state brain functional network in tai chi group and control group were analyzed. The results show that: compared with the control group, the node degree and node efficiency of frontal lobe and temporal lobe in tai chi group were higher. And in some nodes, the difference showed significant. It may be that tai chi exercises have certain effects on specific brain regions. On the positive psychological capital questionnaire, the total score of tai chi group and the scores of self-efficacy,resiliency and optimism were significantly higher than the control group. Moreover, there was a significant positive correlation between the nodal degree of frontal and temporal lobes and the scores of positive psychological capital questionnaire. These results indicate that the unique way of practicing tai chi can have a positive impact on the mental state of the practitioners by affecting specific brain regions.
