As far as the current situation is concerned, most students, especially female college students, pay little attention to physical exercise except those who major in physical education in comprehensive colleges and universities.Studies show that the frequency and intensity of female college students participating in sports are significantly lower than that of male college students. Therefore,it is very necessary for colleges and universities to carry out physical exercise programs popular with female college students.Compared with male college students, female college students pay more attention to their appearance and attraction to the opposite sex,and have a lower level of physical self-esteem.A number of studies have proved that Latin dance project for female college students and even the general public has a significant role in fitness and heart building. It can significantly improve the physical and mental health level of exercisers and has a positive influence on body self-esteem.In addition, subjective exercise experience also has a certain positive influence on the development of college students’ physical and mental health.Previous studies mostly used rumba,cha-cha and samba as intervention means, but few studies focused on the psychological aspects of jive dance on female college students.Compared with other Latin dances, what makes jive dance different is that the movement process of jive takes kicking as the main movement, and there are few movements of hands. An in-depth understanding of the specific impact of jive dance on the physical and mental health development of female college students can enable us to have a more detailed understanding of the specific impact of Latin dance on psychology, and also provide a theoretical basis for the better development of Latin dance courses in colleges and universities.According to Hubei economy academy teaching arrangement, this study selected Hubei economy academy in grade one and grade two and grade three of 120 female college students as the subjects of this study, the selection of grade one and grade two,a total of 60 female college students as experimental group, another 60 female college students in grade as the control group, experimental group cowboy dance training class, strict control in the control group no Latin dance exercise at ordinary times.Questionnaire measurement method and experiment method were used to study the effects of 16 weeks of jive training on female college students’ physical self-esteem and subjective exercise experience. The data before and after the 16-week experiment were analyzed and compared. After the experiment, the physical self-esteem levels of the experimental group and the control group were significantly different(P < 0.001).Before and after the experiment, the physical self-esteem level of female college students in the experimental group reached a very significant difference(P < 0.001),but there was no significant difference in the control group. Before and after the experiment, there were significant differences in the level of subjective exercise experience in the experimental group(P < 0.05),while no significant results were found in the control group.Results:(1)After 16 weeks of jive dance practice, the experimental group compared with the control group has significant differences in the five dimensions of physical self-esteem,indicating that jive dance practice has a significant positive impact on the physical self-esteem of female college students.(2)The research results show that jive dance practice has a very positive effect on the subjective exercise experience of female college students, and has a significant positive effect on improving the level of positive happiness of female college students, and improving their fatigue and psychological troubles.
