| The cultures on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have the same roots, but the differences in social and historical development and preschool education practices have led to the differences between Guide of Learning and Development for3-6-year-old Children("Guide")and Early Childhood Education & Care Curriculum Framework(ECECCF).This research compares the texts and related documents of the "Guide" and the ECECCF by using the text analysis and comparative methods. This research aims to compare the similarities and differences between the concepts, contents and structures of the "Guide" and ECECCF to find the commonalities and advantages of the two documents and to find the possibility of mutual learning and common development of preschool education policies on both sides of the strait. Both the "Guide" and the ECECCF emphasize the child-oriented view of education, emphasize the main role of children, and promote the whole-person development of children. But the "Guide" has a clear structurre and is easy to understand so it has a wide range of users. It emphasizes the development of children’s patriotic feelings and a sense of collective belonging, and highlights the importance of learning quality. The ECECCF has a more complete support system, taking into account the development of children and social culture. In part of the contents, the ECECCF shows the tendency of "primary education".Both sides of the Taiwan Strait inherit the traditional culture of the Chinese nation,so the development of pre-school education is similar, moving in a fair and equal direction. The rapid economic growth of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait has different conditions, and the impact on education is also different.Demographic characteristics have led the mainland to emphasize the inclusiveness of preschool education while the Taiwan region emphasizes distintive development. The similarities and differences between the "Guide" and the ECECCF originate from the interactive influences of various aspects such as the education policy, history and culture, social economy and demographic factors. |
