With the deepening of social transformation and the continuous improvement of people’s needs,social problems are increasing,and more social workers are needed to solve social problems.In 2015 and 2016,Premier Li Keqiang mentioned "developing and supporting social work" twice in the third session of the 12 th National People’s Congress and the work report of the government.But at the same time of developing social work,how about the job satisfaction of social workers themselves,which is obviously worth our thinking.Job satisfaction is determined by one’s actual pay and one’s own feelings,which is subjective and affected by the objective environment.In order to understand and master the job satisfaction status of social workers in social work institutions in Wuhan,to find out the factors affecting job satisfaction,and to explore the improvement strategies.On the basis of the existing literature research,based on Herzberg’s two factor theory and ERG theory,combined with the development status and characteristics of social work institutions in Wuhan,this paper designs a survey scale.The reliability and validity of the scale were tested.On this basis,using stata15 software,this paper makes a descriptive statistical analysis of the current situation of job satisfaction,and combines the in-depth interview records to prove,to explore the satisfaction of all dimensions.The study found that the job satisfaction of social workers in Wuhan is low,and that of men is lower than that of women.Compared with other industries,the salary is relatively low,most organizations do not have a perfect salary system and performance evaluation system,and the promotion mechanism is not clear.Although most social work practitioners believe that this occupation is in line with their own interests,we can not avoid the fact that the loss rate of social workers is high,and most people hold a wait-and-see attitude on whether they will engage in social work in the future.Through regression analysis,we found that monthly wage income,age,working years,whether to obtain qualification certificate and other aspects were positively correlated with several dimensions of job satisfaction.However,there is a negative correlation between daily working hours and several dimensions of job satisfaction.In view of the above main influencing factors,in order to further improve the job satisfaction of social workers in Wuhan,this paper puts forward three suggestions.First,from the perspective of institutions,institutions should improve wages and pay and establish a feasible performance appraisal mechanism.Second,starting from social workers themselves,social workers should strengthen self-study and improve their psychological quality.Third,from the perspective of the government,the government should strengthen the support for social workers and strengthen the supervision of social workers’ institutions to ensure that social workers get their own legitimate interests.
