Study On The Impact Of Shanghai’s Health Human Capital Investment On Its Economic Development

Health,as a necessary condition for people to achieve their own comprehensive development,is also an important basis for the society to maintain a healthy,stable and sustainable development.The propulsion of modern society developing will eventually return to “human”.The potential value of human capital contains enormous energy to promote social development.With the increasingly prominent problems of China’s population structure,the supply capacity of the labor market has decreased,and the“Demographic Dividend” has gradually disappeared.The traditional development model based on factor input will be banned.With the strategic priorities——human resources development and human capital investment——going on,“Human Capital Dividend” of the whole society will be improving,which can lay the foundation for realizing the transformation and development of society.In recent years,the CPC Central Committee’s call for “promoting healthy China construction” is a key measure to achieve the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way and to promote socialist modernization.By summarizing the study results in the field of relationship between human capital and economy,the paper finds that the existing researches mostly referred to the“stock” or “structure” of human capital,specifically explored the relationship between human capital and economy,and demonstrated the human capital’s attribute on stimulating economic growth.At present,health human capital has received much attention,while the academic research in this field has focused more on health care.Research that can fully express the connotation is relatively weak,and research on health human capital investment needs to be improved.Shanghai,as China’s “first-line” city,should pay more attention to the utility of human capital and the investment in health human capital,so as to ensure a high-level of social-economic development.Therefore,the paper cuts through the connotation of both health human capital and economic development,and takes Shanghaias the study object to explore the impact of its health human capital investment on economic development.Firstly,the system of health human capital investment evaluation indexes and the system of economic development evaluation indexes are designed.The system of health human capital investment is divided into 5 aspects: medical health investment,education investment,environmental protection input,self-care input and life improvement investment.From the government,society,and individual departments,it contains 11 specific indicators to form a relatively complete and systematic pattern.From four dimensions:“economic growth rate”,“development structure”,“development momentum” and “development challenge”,the economic developing system determines 17 specific indicators to form a systematic and comprehensive pattern.Secondly,the entropy method is used to measure the health human capital investment and economic development.Combined with Shanghai’s historical situations,the evaluation results are compared and analyzed in time and structure perspectives.Thirdly,using gray correlation analysis and regression analysis methods to conduct empirical research on the impacts of health human capital investment on economic development: according to the degree of correlation between the two systems,the ranking of the impact is obtained;On the basis of the analysis on the possible transmission path of health human capital investment on the economic development,the introduction of material capital,openness,technology level and human capital stock as control variables reveals the direct and indirect effects.Finally,based on the empirical conclusions and international experience,this paper will propose some countermeasures.The study draws some conclusions: Firstly,according to the results of the correlation degree calculation,there is the impacts rank of heath human capital investment on economic development: environmental protection>self-care>education>medical health>lifestyle;Secondly,through regression analysis,it shows that health human capital investment has a certain positive impacts on economic development directly and indirectly.But at this stage,the effectiveness of the impact is insufficient.Therefore,it is necessary for government to pay attention to the research of health human capital investment,plan the layout,adjust the investment structure,and enhance the effectiveness of health human capital investment on social-economic development.
