The Influence Of Population Quality On Economic Growth In Western China

As the 21st century in the era of knowledge economy,the level of science and technology has gradually become the main force to promote economic growth.After years of demographic dividend,China,which has lost this advantage,should keep up with the general trend of the world economy and fully attach importance to the quality of population to maintain high-quality economic growth.In the western region is located in the western region of our country,although with abundant natural resources,but its relatively slow growth compared to the eastern and middle,most of the national poverty alleviation work key are located in the western region,so in the western region’s economic growth is an important part of achieve high quality of the national economy growth,if have a large number of high-quality talent can make full use of regional advantages,complement each other to get rid of the backward economic situation.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the influence of population quality on economic growth in western China.Firstly,this paper summarizes the basic definition of population quality,the evaluation index system of population quality and the related literature on the relationship between population quality and economic growth.Secondly,the author studies the theoretical basis of the influence of population quality on economic growth,including the definition of population quality,the theory of economic growth,the influence mechanism of population quality on economic growth,and the construction of the evaluation index system of population quality.Then it analyzes the change of population quality and economic growth in the western region in recent years,and calculates the comprehensive quality of the population in the western region.Then is the impact on economic growth in the empirical analysis of the quality of the population,selected the western region(except Tibet)data from 1997 to 2017 as sample,using panel data model analysis of the influence of population quality on economic growth,and it can be divided into the northwest and the two parts of other region in the specific analysis of regional difference of population quality impact on economic growth.Through empirical analysis,the conclusions are drawn :(1)the population quality in the western region has a significant role in promoting economic growth;(2)among the three subsystems of population quality,the role of promoting economic growth from the largest to the smallest is labor skill quality,cultural quality and physical quality;(3)area,other area population quality western pull function on the economic growth is greater than the northwest region,the subsystem,the northwest region population labor skills quality have no obvious promoting effect on economic growth,the population of other region in the west culture,labor skills and physical quality has a significant promoting effect on economic growth,visible in the northwest region should strengthen the quality of the population especially in order to better adapt to the development of quality labor skills,and promote economic growth.Finally,this paper summarizes the paper,according to the conclusion of the western region to improve the quality of the population to speed up the high-quality economic growth of the relevant countermeasures and Suggestions.
