The Impact Of Internet Use On Employment Opportunities

The employment problem concerns the national economy and the people’s livelihood.In recent years,the labor market problem in China has become increasingly prominent.Although China has a large population and abundant labor resources,at the present stage of the slowdown of economic development,the lack of demand in the labor market is more obvious,and the phenomenon of frequent layoffs occurs,which leads to the imbalance of supply and demand in the employment market.At the same time,with the deepening reform of the market economy in China,the employment system is gradually moving from distribution to independent employment,and the opportunities available to both sides of the labor market are increasing,which makes the employment problem more and more serious.The development of the Internet provides a new way to solve the employment problem.The purpose of this paper is to study the impact on employment opportunities from the perspective of Internet use,combined with the current situation of employment in the Internet era,and provide reference programs for the possible problems in the labor market on the basis of research conclusions,so as to promote the healthy development of the labor market..Firstly,this paper sorts out the related literature of Internet and employment,and expounds the possible mechanism of Internet’s effect on employment with the theory of related literature This paper puts forward three analysis dimensions of Employment Opportunity: Employment Acquisition,High-income Employment and Formal Employment,and combines the current situation of Internet industry development and labor market to grasp the research content as a whole.Based on the data of Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)in 2013 and 2015,this paper uses Probit model to test the impact and strength of Internet use on employment opportunities.After dealing with robustness and endogeneity,employment opportunities will be significantly increased by using the Internet and increasing the intensity of using the Internet.In the heterogeneity analysis,we found that the effect of Internet use on employment opportunities is mainly reflected in men and groups with higher education level,it also suggests that gender and education barriers still exist.Finally,in the analysis of the mechanism,it is concluded that the use of the Internet has an impact on employment opportunities mainly through information transmission mechanisms,while promoting social capital and human capital investment through effective ways of increasing social interaction and recharging learning,as well as increasing employment opportunities.
