| With the rapid development of “women’s sports” in recent years,female athletes,as the main participants of “women’s sports”,have naturally become the focus of people’s attention.Based on Titan Sports as the sample object,this paper mainly adopts content analysis and text analysis from two aspects of quantitative and qualitative to analyze the media images of female athletes,and finds the advantages and disadvantages of media in shaping the media images of female athletes.At the same time,it also discusses the factors that influence the media to shape the media images of female athletes,and puts forward the corresponding solutions to the existing problems.Through the study,it is found that the media not only report female athletes from multiple angles,but also highlight the focus,which not only show the athletes from all aspects on and off the court,but also focus on the female athletes’ performance on the field and highlight the athletes’ sports attributes.However,despite the rapid development of female sports in recent years,compared with male sports,there is still a problem that the media does not pay attention to female sports.In addition,there are gender bias,stereotypes and objectification of female athletes as body symbols in the media’s portrayal of female athletes. |
