| Online games,which were once regarded as electronic opiates,made people bored with playing things,were criticized and criticized by the "mainstream consciousness" of the society.Those who played games became sinners bound with games,and Internet addiction and decadence became synonymous with them.With the development of The Times,with the prosperity of the entertainment industry,the game industry has also risen rapidly.As a sports competition,the game industry has entered the mainstream sports arena and become an important part of the economic development.On the one hand,it is their own interests and hobbies,on the one hand,it is the development of the game industry,on the other hand,it is the negative impression of all parties.Are the players who are in the focus of the disputes in all parties able to identify with their identity as "game players" or ashamed to admit it? What are the factors that influence the approval or disapproval? Have they shed the negative labels that society has long imposed on them? What are the characteristics of gamers today?This study intends to analyze the status and influencing factors of gamers’ identity from the perspectives of stereotype,identity,motivation theory and social interaction,and explore the self-perception and other people’s impression of gamers in the new era.Through the questionnaire analysis of 480 game players and the open interview of 10 players,the results show that gender,education level,game frequency,game contact time,game payment behavior,game motivation,game identity,role identity,social environment identity and so on have a significant impact on player identity.However,the identification of game group has no significant effect on the identity of players.At the same time,gender also has a profound impact on the game frequency,game exposure time and game payment behavior of players,indicating that gender also directly and indirectly affects the identity of players.Males have deeper game behavior than females.At the same time,the respondents’ perception of game players is different from the previous negative characteristics,which are manifested as positive characteristics such as "interesting","smart" and "focused".People’s attitude towards game players is changing,and game players also show a high degree of identification with their player identity.The identification of the game and the characters and the game motivation bring the players positive emotional experience,so that they have enough reasons to fight against the prejudice from the outside environment.They hope to correct the name of the game and the player group,deconstruct the prejudice,and reconstruct the positive "player" meaning.To reconstruct the positive meaning of the players will be the only way to restore the essential meaning of the game--the media.Only after the restoration of the game can we overcome prejudice,give full play to its benefits,become the impetus for social progress,and become an extension of our life experience. |
