Objective:study the effect of Flywheel Training(FT)on Running Economy(RE)of male college students.Methods:recruit twenty-two male college students and divided them into experimental group(Flywheel,F)and control group(Control,C)randomly.The training program of group C is physical fitness training 3 times a week and 5-10km running 3 times a week.The specific program of physical fitness is:60 times of leg lifts,60 times of hamstring,10kg*20 times of quick jerk,20 times of abdominal curl,60 seconds of flat support*3 groups for 6 weeks,each 3 times a week.The F group received the Flywbeel squat training program of 4 groups*7,with 3 minutes rest between groups.3 times a week on the basis of the training program of the C group.The load:one large flywheel 0.02 kg·m2 for inertia load,and one larger flywheel0.06 kg·m2.VO2max,running distance and heart rate,VE,VCO2,time and speed,different VO2max level(65%VO2max,75%VO2max,85%VO2max)under the corresponding rate of RE,Counter Movement Jump(CMJ),Static Jump altitude and performance parameters:Eccentric Utilization Ratio(EUR)and Rate of Force Development(RFD)were measured respectively before and after the 6-weeks experiment.Results:(1)the VO2max of participants in group C and group F significantly decreased after 6 weeks compared with that before the experiment(P<0.01,ES=0.22;P<0.01,ES=0.35);(2)compared with before the experiment,the RE in group F at65%VO2max,75%VO2max and 85%VO2max decreased significantly(P<0.01,ES=0.76;P<0.01,ES=1.04;P<0.01,ES=1.85);(3)compared with before the experiment,the height of(SJ,CMJ)in group F was significantly increased(P<0.01,ES=0.73;P<0.01,ES=1.15);And EUR,SJRFDand CMJRFDwere significantly improved(P<0.05,ES=0.44;P<0.05,ES=0.46;P<0.01,ES=0.66);group F was significantly lower than group C(P<0.05,ES=0.30)corresponding to 85%VO2max on RE.Conclusion:(1)Flywheel training improves the muscle hardness and other neuromuscular functions,strengthens the athlete’s running economy,and improves65%,75%,and 85%RE,which helps improve endurance performance.(2)Flywheel training has a positive effect on SJ,CMJ,RFD,EUR and other lower limb elastic potential energy indicators.Future training can use flywheel training to improve individual explosive power and other abilities.
