Research On The Practical Application Of Velocity-based Resistance Training In National Badminton Team

Objectives:To apply velocity-based training to resistance training of the national badminton team,then to explore the relationship between barbell velocity and load,and how to use the barbell velocity to guide resistance training.Provide scientific and technological assistance for the national badminton team’s strength and conditioning training for the Tokyo Olympics.Methods:In this study,10 male athletes from the national badminton team were selected as subjects,and Gym Aware was used to feedback and collect experimental data of bench press,hip thrust,leg press and squat.At the same time,the experimental design was improved with the help of literature data method,and the data was processed by mathematical statistics method.Results:1.It is found that there is a strong linear relationship between load intensity and barbell average velocity under five movements(except hip thrust,R2>0.80).Then get the velocity range of developing different strength under these movements.2.Compared with the reference standard established by NSCA,the repetition maximum of bench press,hip thrust and squat were more under a certain load intensity.At the same time,the repetition maximum of single leg press under a certain load intensity is determined.The repetition maximum of the set is estimated indirectly by the VBest.3.There was no significant difference in the VLastof hip thrust and single leg press when the load intensity from 60%-100%1RM.When the load intensity of bench press increased from 60%1RM to 100%1RM,the VLastdecreased gradually,the range of variation was no more than 0.09m/s.There was significant difference between the VLastof squat under certain load intensity.4.The study shows that the maximum velocity loss of different movement is quite different under different load intensity.No matter which one,with the increase of load intensity,the maximum velocity loss decreases gradually,but the degree of decline is different.5.In the study,it is found that there is a univariate quadratic function relationship between the percentage of completion repetitions and the velocity loss under different load intensity of bench press,hip thrust,single leg press and squat(except hip thrust under 80%,90%1RM).According to the demand of resistance training of national badminton team,the relationship between the percentage of completion repetitions and velocity loss in different sets was obtained for more accurate guidance.6.After the national badminton team apply velocity-based training for 5weeks,eight indicators include the vertical jump height,30m sprint,1RM squat were significantly improved as compared with those before training(P<0.05).After 5 weeks of traditional resistance training,there were significant differences in six indicators include the vertical jump height,the velocity of weight-bearing 40kg squat jump before and after the experiment(P<0.05).However,except single leg press,the increase of result after velocity-based training is greater than the traditional resistance training.Conclusions:1.In the resistance training,the barbell velocity can be used to monitor the overall load intensity,then the load intensity can be adjusted at any time through the barbell velocity to ensure all athletes reach their targets.2.This study establishes a new standard for the repetition maximum of bench press,hip thrust,single leg press and squat under different load intensity.If the repetition maximum is to be used in the resistance training of the national badminton team,we can refer to this standard.To some extent,the VBestcan reflect the load intensity.When the VBestis determining,we can get the repetition maximum under this load intensity.3.The VLastof bench press,hip thrust,single leg press,and squat under different load intensity was relatively stable.The VLastcan be used to evaluate the level of efforts of athletes and determine the safety threshold of training to prevent athletes from injury.4.The maximum velocity loss can determine athletic potential and prevent athletes from injury.5.After the velocity loss is determined according to the training purpose in the resistance training of the national badminton team,we can determine the percentage of completion repetitions,and then know the number of repetitions that different athletes should finish,so as to ensure that the level of efforts of all athletes are the same.Do more precise and accurate training.6.Both traditional resistance training and velocity-based training can improve muscle strength,power and sports performance.But the overall effect of velocity-based training is better.In view of this,it is meaningful to use the research results to direct the practice of sports training.
