Background: As a new training model, whole body vibration training has been widely used in the area of sports health. However, the study related to the aerobic energy expenditure of the whole-body vibration training is insufficient, especially the study about the effect of vibration amplitude under low-to-moderate loaded condition. Objective: To explore the effect of vibration amplitude on the aerobic energy expenditure of human body under low-to-moderate loaded condition.Method: Nine male students of Beijing Sports University were selected in this experiment.Vibration stimulation(no vibration;30Hz 2mm;30Hz 4mm)was combined with external load(0%body weight;20%body weight;40%body weight)into nine different squatting exercises, which were carried out in random order. The training content is six sets of squatting exercise, each set contains ten repetitions, each squat lasts for 3s(concentric contraction 1.5s,eccentric contraction 1.5s).The oxygen consumption, heart rate and other indicators before, during and after exercise, was monitored by cortex analyzer.Result:(1)During exercise, the oxygen consumption rate of vibration group(2mm;4mm)was significantly higher than non-vibration group(P = 0.02,P < 0.01);there was no significant difference between 2mm and 4mm amplitude(P = 0.565).(2)During the recovery stage: under unloaded condition, the oxygen consumption rate of vibration group was significantly higher than non-vibration group(P = 0.045,P< 0.01).The oxygen consumption rate of 4mm vibration group was significantly higher than 2mm vibration group(P = 0.014).Under the loaded condition, vibration stimulation can significantly increase the rate of oxygen consumption, but there was no significant difference between 2mm and 4mm amplitude.(3)Vibration stimulation increased the aerobic energy expenditure, oxygen consumption and exercise intensity(MET)significantly, the increased volume was no more than 3met,but there was no significant difference between 2mm and 4mm amplitude.(4)Under all three vibration groups, the external load increased the oxygen consumption volume, aerobic energy expenditure and exercise intensity(MET)significantly.Conclusion:(1)2 mm and 4 mm amplitude can increase aerobic energy expenditure and metabolic equivalent(MET)of squatting at least 15.4% and 23.8%,respectively.(2)Increasing the vibration amplitude can increase the aerobic energy expenditure of body weight squat, but it has no significant effect on the aerobic energy expenditure of squat with external load.(3)The increase of external load can increase the aerobic energy expenditure and metabolic equivalent(MET)of squatting, when external load is no more than 40%body weight.
