Purpose: there are various ways of walking in water, and water walking has many benefits, which have been widely used in the fields of water fitness and water rehabilitation. This paper aims to analyze the emg characteristics of lower extremity muscles in different water walking movements through the wireless waterproof myoelectric test system, classify and sort out different water walking movements, and provide theoretical basis for the future research and application of water walking. Methods: The Comta underwater wireless surface emg test system was used to perform emg tests on 4 male and 4 female students who had no training experience in the department of disciplines of Beijing sport university. The emg data of 15 different walking movements of the subjects were recorded, and the whole test process was recorded to facilitate subsequent motion analysis. The emg analysis software Emg Easy Report6.00 was used to process the data.Spss22.0 was used to rapidly cluster the total percentage of muscle activation of 15 water walking movements, and the 15 water walking movements were divided into 4 categories. Results: the main muscles of normal forward movement were semitendinosus, tibia anterior, biceps femoris long head, medial gastrocnemius, etc. The main muscles of normal backward movement are semitendinosus, tibia anterior, medial gastrocnemius, biceps femoris long head, erector spine, etc. The main driving muscles of normal lateral walking are semitendinosus, tibia anterior, erector ridge, biceps femoris long head and medial gastrocnemius. The main muscles of straight leg walking in water are rectus femoris, anterior tibia, lateral femoris, medial femoris, etc. The main muscle of straight leg walking backward is semitendinosus muscle, biceps femoris long head, erector ridge muscle, etc. The main force muscles in lateral movement of straight leg are semitendinosus muscle, tibial anterior muscle, medial gastrocnemius muscle and erector ridge muscle. The main force muscles in the movement of kicking and walking before bending the knee are rectus femoris, anterior tibia, medial gastrocnemius, semitendinosus, etc. The main muscles in the movement of walking with the knees bent and the back pedals are the semitendinosus, the long head of the biceps femoris, the medial gastrocnemius, the erector ridge, and the tibial anterior muscle. The main force muscles in the movement of lateral kick are semitendinosus, tibia anterior, medial gastrocnemius and biceps femoris. The main force muscles of the time walking are tibia anterior muscle, medial gastrocnemius, biceps femoris long head, semitendinosus muscle, erector ridge muscle, etc. The main driving muscles of the forward walking movement are the tibialis anterior, medial gastrocnemius, semitendinosus and biceps femoris. It is the main force producing muscle except gluteus maximus and rectus abdominis. The main muscles of lunge walking are tibia anterior muscle, semitendinosus muscle, erector ridge muscle, biceps femoris longhead muscle and medial gastrocnemius muscle. The main muscles of lateral lunge walking are tibia anterior muscle, semitendinosus muscle, erector ridge muscle, medial gastrocnemius muscle, gluteus maximus muscle, etc. The main force muscles in the walking action are semitendinosus muscle, medial gastrocnemius, tibia anterior muscle, long head of biceps femoris and lateral gastrocnemius.(2)cluster 1 movement including straight forward walk, knees and back pedal walk, side lunge walk;Cluster 2 action only skip walk;Cluster 3 movement includes normal forward walk, normal backward walk, normal side walk, straight leg side walk, bend the knee side kick walk,in situ walk;Cluster 4 includes straight leg backward walk, knee forward kick walk, shoulder heave forward walk, shoulder heave backward walk, bow lunge walk. Conclusion: although the muscle with a higher percentage of work done in the same action and the muscle with a higher degree of activation are not consistent in their respective numerical values, they are highly consistent on the whole. In the water walking, according to their own needs, choose the appropriate action.(3)cluster 1 of the lateral gastrocnemius, vastus medialis, biceps femoris long head, gluteus maximus activation degree is higher;Besides gluteus maximus and rectus abdominis, other muscles of cluster 2 had higher activation degrees.Cluster 3showed high activation degree of tibial anterior muscle, semitendinosus muscle, erector spinal muscle and vastus lateralis muscle. The biceps femoris longhead, medial gastrocnemius, tibialis anterior, vastus lateralis, erector spinus and rectus femoris of cluster 4 had higher activation degrees. The tibia anterior muscle and medial gastrocnemius muscle are effectively activated in every movement,so patients with knee and ankle joint injuries often use the way of water walking for rehabilitation training, water walking for part of the sports event after the relaxation also has a positive effect. The erector spinal muscles continue to exert force in all movements,so it is an effective method for patients with low back pain to choose to walk in water.By observing the emg and intercepting the emg value of each action during data processing,it is found that the emg value of the active muscle is larger at the beginning of the first action, and the emg value of the antagonist muscle is larger at the end of the action. The overall activation degree of the main force muscles in 15 kinds of water walking movements is between 10% and 35%.
