A Study Of The Effectiveness Of Role Model Education

The study on the contemporary trend of ‘model nihilism’ found that it starts from questioning moral models’ historical deeds,dispelling the sacred image of revolutionary heroes and distorting the original value of the model image,which has damaged model education and negatively affected values.It can be seen that re-establishing role model education is of great significance to ideological and political education.Through the spiritual guidance of role models,it can shape personalities of people,improve the ideological awareness of the educational objects,arouse the emotional resonance of the educational objects for mainstream values,make the ideas and behaviors of the educational objects conform to ethics and morality,and ultimately enhance the persuasiveness and effectiveness of ideological and political education.Compared with education through the arts,theory,practice and warning,role model education has unique value implication.In the new era,it is extremely necessary to make role model education constantly adapt to the development and progress of the times and society,and to exert its due vitality and worth in ideological and political education.The study found that the current effectiveness of role model education is weakening,and there are three difficulties.First,some role models are more abstract.The abstract role model image certainly has value,but as a spiritual pursuit,the abstract role model image is not easy to imitate.Second,star idols have impacted and threatened traditional role models.The phenomenon of idol worship among teenagers in today’s society is relatively serious.Some groups confuse the boundaries between idols and role models.In addition,the media’s public opinion orientation towards the idol market has made this problem even more serious.Third,there is a contradiction between the diversification of value orientation and the simplification of role models.The specific manifestation is that the individual’s aesthetic taste has changed,the value orientation of young people has become diversified,and the class nature of the role model image is more distinct.This contradiction is increasingly prominent.There are four reasons for the above problems.First,the role model image is created too perfect,and the moral role model with high standards is not close enough to life,and it is difficult to follow.Second,‘model nihilism’ occasionally rises.This trend of thought questioned the rationality of the model image,doubted the authenticity of the model image,and slandered and vilified the model image.Third,model education and learning have a certain utilitarian tendency,which is manifested in the lack of excavation of the deeds of role models,the method of education become more formalized and the learning of role models tends to be false.Fourth,some audience groups have a low degree of recognition of collectivist values,and role model education attaches great importance to social values.However,the audience group attaches great importance to individual needs,which caused the conflict between individual utility and collective value.In response to the above problems,a reasonable and effective model education path should be constructed.First,ensure the authenticity of the role model.Focus on life when choosing role models,vivid images when teaching role models,and role models must have affinity.Second,enhance the times of the role model.The image of the role model should reflect the characteristics of the times,and the content of the role model education should keep pace with the times and play the representative role of the role model of the times.Finally,realize the transformation of model education values to practice.It is necessary to adhere to the core values and correct moral judgment standards,resolve the contradiction between the other side of the role model image and the reality of the subject’s learning,and transform the conceptual cognition of the role model spirit into concrete moral practice.
