Each era has its own theme of the times. For China in the 19 th and 20 th centuries,"revolution" is worthy of being the most distinctive theme of the times.Revolution is not only regarded as an important means to save the country from the dead, but also bears the collective memory of the development and evolution of modern Chinese society.Throughout the history of China’s revolution, one of the main characteristics is that the revolution is not moving and the discourse is in advance. As a symbol expression of a series of revolutionary elements, revolutionary discourse has its central idea and core purpose to indicate why and how to carry out revolution. The development of Chinese revolutionary discourse can be divided into traditional Confucian revolutionary discourse and modern revolutionary discourse according to the semantic differences. In China, the earliest revolutionary discourse was the interpretation of Tang Wu revolution and Confucius suking revolution by Confucianism scholars. Its connotation was more than that of imperial dynasty replacement or the sage’s ordered reform under the rule of heaven. This is the traditional revolutionary discourse in China.Around the eighth century, the Chinese traditional revolutionary discourse was introduced into Japan and further interpreted and innovated by Japanese. At the end of the nineteen century, when the early Chinese intellectuals represented by Liang Qichao brought the revolutionary discourse in Japanese context back to China, their semantic connotation changed greatly. The revolution gradually separated from the activities under the rule of heaven, and was regarded as an important means to eliminate social habits and promote social progress. The scope of revolution was no longer limited to the political field, but also extended to many layers such as culture Face to face change, this is the revolutionary discourse in the modern sense of China.Around 1903,the revolutionary discourse in modern China was becoming mature and popular, marked by the appearance of Zou Rong’s Revolutionary Army.At present, with the deepening of the study of Chinese revolutionary history, many scholars have begun to broaden their research ideas and try to cut the new perspective of discourse research into the research of Chinese revolutionary history, and have achieved fruitful research results.Influenced by the characteristics of discourse, discourse can only be retained by other carriers, such as newspapers and magazines, books, etc.Under the influence of daily accumulation and academic interest, this paper chooses Weekly Review,a revolutionary and political journal,to study the revolutionary discourse contained in it.The revolutionary discourse in Weekly Review exists in the background of domestic and foreign difficulties in China in the early 20 th century. On the basis of absorbing the three people’s discourse, referring to the fusion of Soviet Russian revolutionary discourse and accepting the quotation of Marxist theory, the author constructs a set of revolutionary discourse that meets the needs of the revolution at that time.In detail, this discourse covers the basic contents of targeting the revolutionary objects to imperialism and feudal warlords, focusing the revolutionary forces on all the citizens under the leadership of intellectuals, and taking "direct action" and "national self-defense" as revolutionary methods.A set of discourse which is shaped and endowed with explanatory power is not only a simple reorganization of words and sentences, but also a logical and structural support. On the whole, the revolutionary discourse in the weekly review is characterized by taking revolutionary practice as the discourse basis, international experience as the discourse reference, and popularity as the narrative standard.Once formed, the revolutionary discourse in the weekly review penetrated into the political, cultural and other fields of China at that time with a new attitude, which met the revolutionary needs and served the revolutionary practice, and became an important basis to support the deepening of the Chinese revolution at that time.
