A Comparative Study Of The Marxist Theory Of Women And Radical Feminism

With the development of our society,women’s demand for equality and emancipation is increasing.The current situation of contemporary women’s existence and women’s willingness to pursue emancipation jointly drive the popularity of women’s topics.The discussion of women’s topics on the Internet often receives public attention,and it is worth noting that some content is incorrect in guiding the value of women’s emancipation.For example,some more radical feminist comments have recently appeared on the Internet,blaming men for women’s misfortunes and criticizing male power while targeting men,causing gender tensions in cyberspace.Such misguidance can intensify social conflicts and worsen the public opinion environment for women’s liberation,which is not conducive to the development of women’s liberation movements in reality.The radical feminist theory first emerged in the United States in the 1960s,setting off a wave of liberation at the time.The school believed that patriarchy was the root cause of women’s oppression,that men were the target of their struggle,and that they wanted to overthrow the patriarchy and achieve what they considered to be equality by struggling against men and launching a biotechnological revolution.Marxist women’s theory,as the guiding ideology of women’s liberation in China,transcends the narrow gender perspective,breaks away from the trap of gender antagonism,and is based on the height of human liberation,firmly believing that only women’s liberation is based on the harmony of the two sexes is the ultimate goal of the women’s movement.Marxist women’s theory believes that the root cause of women’s oppression is private ownership,that only by eliminating private ownership can women’s liberation be achieved,and that it is also necessary to socialize domestic work and guide women to participate in social work.Marxist women’s theory insists on a class perspective and believes that women’s emancipation is part of the proletarian revolution,that the oppression of women is class oppression,and that the root cause of women’s oppression is private ownership.Radical feminism,based on a gender perspective,believes that men and women are fundamentally different,that the oppression of women originates from the patriarchy,and that men are the targets and objects of women’s struggle.This study argues that women’s oppression is rooted in private ownership,and that women are also oppressed by male power,but that women’s oppression is essentially class oppression.Radical feminist theories of masculinity overemphasize gender perspectives and gender antagonism to the detriment of the women’s liberation movement.The Marxist theory of women proposes a scientific path for women’s development such as developing productive forces,women’s participation in social work and promoting the socialization of domestic work.Radical feminism,which mainly proposes measures to solve problems from the perspectives of culture and technical means,is a social improvement program under capitalist private ownership and cannot achieve women’s liberation.On the issue of ideal goals,Marxist women’s theory insists on pursuing women’s free and comprehensive development,while radical feminist theory pursues absolute equality between men and women,and both theories simultaneously share the common goal of fighting for women’s rights and interests.This study argues that absolute gender equality cannot be achieved within the capitalist private system and that what can be achieved in the end is only false formal equality.Only the ideal goals of Marxist women’s theory can lead the women’s liberation movement in reality.A comparative study of the two theories can identify the more correct theory from the perspective of scientificity;from the perspective of development,it can promote the updating and improvement of the theory and achieve innovative development of the theory;from the perspective of avoiding social risks,it can criticize the wrong feminist views and prevent social unrest and social tearing.The comparative study of Marxist women’s theory and radical feminist theory is of great contemporary value.Between the collision of scientific theory and popular thinking,it is more capable of promoting the development of Marxist women’s theory in contemporary times,and more capable of breaking down the obstacles affecting women’s development and contributing to the ultimate realization of women’s emancipation.In contemporary times,to advance the process of women’s emancipation,it is necessary to adhere to the main position and role of women,take the development of women’s productivity as the fundamental measure,guarantee women’s legitimate rights and interests,carry out reasonable gender culture construction,strengthen the global exchange and integration of women’s emancipation,and promote women’s emancipation and social progress.
