Research On Cooperation Mechanism Of Combating Human Trafficking In Southeast Asia

According to the statistics of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime,at present,about half of the global human trafficking population comes from Southeast Asia,and the situation of human trafficking in this region is not optimistic.In order to crack down on human trafficking,Southeast Asian countries have reached a consensus on dealing with this non-traditional security issue,and made relevant institutional arrangements and collective actions to crack down on human trafficking.The situation of human trafficking in Southeast Asia remains grim,and the cooperation mechanism against human trafficking faces many challenges.This paper attempts to investigate the problem of combating human trafficking and its governance in Southeast Asia from the perspective of international mechanism.First of all,on the basis of analyzing the basic situation and influence of human trafficking in Southeast Asia,the reasons for the formation of cooperation mechanism against human trafficking in Southeast Asia are discussed.Secondly,through sorting out the cooperation mechanism against human trafficking in Southeast Asia,summarize its characteristics and discuss its existing problems.Thirdly,a case study is made on the effectiveness of the cooperation mechanism against human trafficking in Southeast Asia and the restraining factors.Finally,on the basis of the above analysis,countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to improve the cooperation mechanism against human trafficking in Southeast Asia.The international cooperation mechanism against human trafficking in Southeast Asia shows diversity and multi-level in Southeast Asia.The cooperation arrangements are numerous and complex,and the actors involved are more diverse,resulting in the "congestion" of the cooperation mechanism,the lack of unified coordination,and the impact of the fight against human trafficking.To improve the anti-trafficking mechanism in Southeast Asia,we should strengthen dialogue and coordination,and further enhance the function of the existing cooperation mechanism.Focus on the integration of main forces and give full play to the leading role of ASEAN in the cooperation mechanism against human trafficking;At the same time,we will advance the building of a Southeast Asian security community and deepen political mutual trust among regional countries.And further enhance the degree of cooperation practice standardization,improve the monitoring and evaluation mechanism and other aspects of the possible countermeasures and suggestions.
