| The report on the work of the government on the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China had put forward: promoting the integrity construction and industrializing the voluntary service;enhancing the awareness of social responsibility,rule and dedication.That indicates the new requirements and missions of the voluntary service.As the youth responsibility and essential force of the volunteer team,college students volunteers play an important role in the construction of a harmonious society and participation in community services.However,during the services,some students hold poor identity,values,concepts and practical ability,which leads to substandard service and disappointing performance.Thus,it is imperative to enhance their capability to serve and the quality of voluntary service.Taking undergraduate volunteers in the Y community as the research subject,this article also uses the theories of empowerment and learning from observation.Moreover,it analyzes the condition of their voluntary ability and their needs by collecting data via semi-structured interviews,questionnaires and participatory observation.We find some issues among these students,namely the lack of identity,and abilities of organizational coordination and interaction.In my review,I reckon that there are some common problems during the voluntary activities joined by undergraduate volunteers,for instance,lack of communication skills and self-awareness,unclear identity,and weak team cooperation.Therefore,in light of the realities,I designed some group activities and invited ten college students to participate in these activities.To address these problems,this article focus on communication skills,identity,the significance of volunteer and coordination.We carried out group activities of construction of university students’ volunteer service.The Practice has proved that the service ability of college student volunteers is enhanced by the way to combine the theories of empowerment and learning from observation and group activities.In detail,they have mastered more skills of communication and resolving conflicts needed in voluntary services,enhanced organizational and coordination capacities required in the daily voluntary activities.And they have improved self-cognitive ability and Clarified themselves.The group members are satisfied with the planning and implementation of this activity and volunteers’ performance.Finally,this research summarized some issues about social work intervention,the ability and development of students’ service.In doing this,we hope that this study would provide experience and reference for social workers in boosting the ability of volunteers’ service. |
