Struggle For Or Against Confucian Orthodoxy:Research About The Huang Zongxi’s Poxielun

There have been abundant researches about Huang Zongxi’s thoughts since the20 th century.Although academia have formed a more comprehensive research pattern on Huang Zongxi’s thought from the political thoughts gradually extended to his philosophy,history,classics,mathematics,science,all these studies have shown a trend: our scholars mostly use different disciplines to deconstruct Huang Zongxi’s thought as the research paradigm.In other words,the in-depth research has caused Huang Zongxi’s thought to be fragmented rather than integrated,and academia lacks the research about the concern of Huang Zongxi’s lifelong.Aiming at the deficiencies of existing research,this paper focuses on Huang Zongxi’s book Po Xie Lun as the core clue to explore Huang Zongxi’s life-long learning concern.As a review and summary of Huang Zongxi’s lifelong learning,Po Xie Lun is a short but extensive text in itself.Most of the existing studies still have analyzed it separately from the perspectives of different disciplines.This paper will concentrate on two questions: Is there a clue that can connect different content in the text? To what extent can this clue be regarded as the concern of Huang Zongxi’s lifelong learning? Through research,the author believes that Confucian orthodoxy can be used as a clue to the Po Xie Lun and Huang Zongxi’s life-long learning concerns.Huang Zongxi in Po Xie Lun focuses on reshaping the Confucian orthodoxy and vertically promotes it to the political system.The supreme position above,horizontally elevated Taoism to the position of other theories.At the same time,Huang Zongxi tried to find motivation for the completion of Taoism in the present world.However,with the deepening of the interpretation of Taoism,Huang Zongxi discovered the traditional support for the theory of Taoism.A lot of knowledge itself is doubtful,so Huang Zongxi showed some kind of urge to escape from the orthodoxy.If we turn our attention to Huang Zongxi’s previous works,we will find that the reshaping and realization of Confucian orthodoxy has been through Huang Zongxi’s life,and his escape from Confucian orthodoxy truly reflects the real dilemmas faced by Confucianism at that time.The dilemma is still effective for the current development of Confucianism.
