A Study Of The Turkey Republican People’s Party (2002-2020)

In 1925,the Kemal regime banned the Progressive Republican Party,and Turkey entered the era of one-party system.From 1960 to 1980,the Turkish Republican People’s Party became an important force in the political arena by participating in democratic elections and forming a coalition government.After the ruling party came to power in2002,the Republican People’s Party entered the parliament as the largest opposition party,transitioned from the ruling party to the opposition party,reformed its ideology,and actively adjusted its electoral strategy to participate in political changes.This article is divided into three parts.The first is to sort out the historical development process of the Turkish Republican People’s Party.Second,analyze the reasons for the ideological change of the Turkish Republican People’s Party and the change of leaders.Third,a multi-dimensional perspective of the influence of the Turkish Republican People’s Party as Turkey’s largest opposition party on the political situation in Turkey from 2002 to2020.The first part is the introduction,expounding the basis of this article,the research status of the Republican People’s Party at home and abroad,the theoretical and practical significance of the research of the Republican People’s Party from 2002 to 2020,and the research methods and innovations.The second part is the main text,which is divided into three chapters.The first chapter briefly elaborates and analyzes the development process of the Republican People’s Party from its establishment to its reconstruction;the initiation of the Turkish multi-party system during the Inonu period prompted the Republican People’s Party to adjust itself in the new political environment: After the Republican People’s Party was rebuilt in 1992,Seek a reasonable position under Baykal’s leadership.The second chapter elaborates and analyzes the ideological program of the Turkish Republican People’s Party from 2002 to 2020.Against the background of successive failures in the elections of the Republic of Turkey,the leader of the Republican People’s Party changed from Baykal to Kilicdaroglu in 2010.During this period,the ideological program and political line also experienced changes from conservative to positive.The leading position of Moralism as the ideology of the Republican People’s Party has gradually weakened.Chapter III mainly elaborates the political practice of the Republican People’s Party from 2002 to 2020.Turkish politics is facing ideological differentiation and party struggles.As the largest opposition party in Turkey,the Republican People’s Party actively participates in democratic elections,forms electoral alliances and participates in political reforms,which has an important impact on the democratization process in Turkey.The third part is the concluding part,which mainly summarizes the development of the Republican People’s Party in the Republic of Turkey after becoming the largest opposition party in 2002,and clarifies the party’s outlook on domestic politics from 2002 to 2020 as the largest opposition party in the country.
