Poetry is the speech that comes from the heart, and the so-called poetry speaks of the will,as the Preface to Mao’s poems says,"In the heart is the will, and in the speech is the poetry.Mao Zedong composed a large number of poetic works, and most of his poems are revolutionary poems, which are based on revolutionary and construction practices and fully reflect not only his noble proletarian revolutionary spirit, but most importantly,Mao’s poems are an important carrier of his own revolutionary thought. As an impor;tant part of Mao’s thought, the idea of united front is expressed through the carrier of Mao’s poetry, and can be better disseminated and passed on.By carefully reading Mao’s revolutionary poems and combining them with the historical background of the time,we can find Mao’s unique insights into the theory and practice of the united front.Another very important point is that Mao Zedong was good at using poetry itself as a bridge to do united front work, using poetry to meet friends, and using poetry to express sincere intentions to cooperate and befriend with others.Studying the united front thought in Mao’s poetry is a unique perspective that broadens the research ideas on Mao’s poetry as well as Mao’s united front thought. After extensive collection and organization of Mao’s poems, the content of the united front thought in Mao’s poems is determined in conjunction with historical materials, which leads to the research results. The thesis consists of three parts, the first part:the fit between Mao’s poems and Mao’s united front thought is elaborated, specifically, the inherent fit between Mao’s poems and Mao’s united front thought is elaborated from the homology of the theoretical and practical roots of Mao’s poems and the synchronization of the two at different stages of development;the second part:the united front thought embodied in Mao’s poems is explored. The second part:the united front thought embodied in Mao Zedong’s poems is analyzed and summarized in six aspects:the thought on the importance of united front work, the thought on the leadership of the united front, the thought on the alliance of workers and peasants, the thought on the unity of intellectuals, the thought on the distinction between enemies and friends and the fight for the middle faction, and the thought on making friends with poets. The third part:to draw inspiration for contemporary United Front work based on the characteristics of Mao’s poetry. The purpose of this study is to sort out the united front thought in Mao’s poems,so as to enrich the understanding of Mao’s united front thought and provide some inspiration for the improvement and innovation of the ways and means of united front work.Mao Zedong’s poetry is one of the carriers of his united front thought, and it is through such a special carrier that Mao’s superb united front art and charismatic appeal are expressed,so that we can feel this art and appeal across time and space, and thus be able to inherit and innovate.
