Research On Sino-Philippines Relations Since The New Century

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the Philippines on June 9,1975,Sino-Philippines relations have on the whole developed smoothly and cooperation in various fields.However,Sino-Philippines relations have taken on different faces in different historical periods and international environments.Since Rodrigo Duterte hold power,Sino-Philippines relations have entered a fast track and established a comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership.To clarify the development context of Sino-Philippines relations since the new century,to study the internal and external factors affecting the development of Sino-Philippines relations,as well as the problems existing in the development process between China and the Philippines,is of reference and guiding significance to the future development of Sino-Philippines relations.By reviewing the history of the development of Sino-Philippines relations,this paper clarifies the development context of Sino-Philippines relations since the new century.According to different Philippine governments,Sino-Philippines relations are divided into the arroyo period,the Aquino iii period and the Duterte period.On the one hand,based on the cooperation between China and the Philippines in the political,economic,cultural and military fields in these three periods,the achievements of the development of Sino-Philippines relations since the new century are analyzed,as well as the internal and external factors that have promoted the development of Sino-Philippines relations.On the other hand,based on the discord and friction between China and the Philippines,this paper explores the problems existing in the development of Sino-Philippines relations and analyzes the factors hindering the development of bilateral relations.Finally according to the above problems put forward the corresponding Suggestions.Since the beginning of the new century,Sino-Philippines relations have achieved remarkable results in all aspects,including deepening political mutual trust,expanding economic cooperation,deepening scientific,educational and cultural exchanges and strengthening military cooperation.In particular,the handling of the South China Sea issue by China and the Philippines is in line with the trend of common development of all countries in the international community.China has shared its experience with the world and demonstrated the broad mind and wisdom that a major country should have.But also had many unfavorable factors,the relations between China and the Philippines on the one hand,although since Duterte ruling,reached the south China sea issue of the consensus of "shelve dispute,common development",it is difficult to fundamentally solved,but the south China sea issue can only be relative to control,and it’s easy to become the focus of western powers against China.On the other hand,the military alliance between the Philippines and the United States still exists.As for the current china-us relationship,it will provide the United States with the possibility of confronting China,which is a hidden danger for the development of Sino-Philippines relations.In this regard,this paper holds that we should,first of all,adhere to the guidance of the diplomatic thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and continuously promote the cooperation and development between China and the Philippines,as well as between China and the world,under the guidance of correct theories.Second,we need to continue to properly handle the South China Sea issue and strengthen cooperation in the South China Sea so that the interests of the two countries far outweigh the conflicts.Finally,we should continue to promote regional mechanisms and strengthen regional cooperation.Let the development of Sino-Philippines relations become not only a driving force for regional cooperation,but also a result of it.In general,since the beginning of the new century,Sino-Philippines relations have been developing in a better direction,and under the framework of "a community of Shared future for mankind" and "a community of Shared future for neighboring countries",Sino-Philippines relations will also be on the right track in the future.
