Research On The Administrative Approval Efficiency On Export Complexity

With the development of the world economy and the promotion of globalization,the links between countries are becoming more closer and closer,and trade exchanges are becoming more frequently.China’s export trade volume has undergone tremendous changes since the reform and opening up.However,if want to maintain a leading position in the international economy,we must not only increase the export volume,but also improve the quality of export trade.Export complexity,as a key indicator of export quality,has received widespread attention from scholars at home and abroad.The establishment of the administrative examination and approval center can not only save the time cost and transaction costs of enterprise document approval,but also promote enterprise innovation.The establishment of the administrative examination and approval center marks the improvement of the efficiency of administrative examination and approval.With the improvement of the efficiency of administrative examination and approval,can it also increase the complexity of China’s exports? This article discusses this issue in depth.Since the establishment of the administrative approval center was concentrated before 2006,this article uses the 2000-2006 China Customs Database,the Global Trade Database,the City Statistical Yearbook,and the time of establishment of the administrative approval centers in cities across the country With relevant data,under the condition that the samples meet the randomness and the consistency of the trend,an experimental group and a control group were established,and a double difference method was used to conduct an empirical analysis of the impact of China’s administrative approval efficiency on export complexity.Secondly,the sample heterogeneity,different geographical locations,and processing trade models are analyzed.Finally,four methods are used to test the robustness of the model.The results of the study found that between 2000 and 2006,the efficiency ofadministrative approval significantly increased the complexity of exports,and there was a lag effect.Subsequently,this article also categorizes the samples,and proves that the efficiency of administrative review and approval for promoting the export complexity of general trade is higher than that of processing trade.The promotion effectiveness is higher than that of state-owned enterprises.In the end,the paper again proves the robustness of the regression results by excluding government shock factors,parallel tests,placebo tests,and re-measurement of export complexity.The research results in this paper show that the Chinese government can improve the efficiency of administrative approval,promote the savings of business transaction costs,promote innovation,and then increase the complexity of corporate exports,occupying an advantageous position in international trade.Finally,this article studies and discusses the problems of China’s current administrative approval efficiency and the current low level of export complexity technology.
