At present, the form of population aging is becoming increasingly serious, and the health problems of the elderly have increasingly become the focus of attention from all walks of life.In view of the health problems of the elderly caused by aging, our government has actively introduced relevant countermeasures to deal with the contradiction between the demand and supply of health services for the elderly, and promote the strategy of healthy aging. However,at present, health care, health services and life services for the elderly are still in short supply, and the solution to the health problems of the elderly is still the focus of the current social development.Previous studies have found that income is the main factor affecting the health of the elderly, ignoring the important factor of social capital, and the problem of health inequality in the elderly has not been paid more attention.Introducing social capital into the study of the health of the elderly can not only explore the relationship between social capital and the health of the elderly, but also have far-reaching theoretical guidance and practical significance for the development of healthy aging strategy. The health of the elderly is a comprehensive health status of physical health, mental health and social adaptation. From the perspective of social capital, this paper explores how the two dimensions of social capital affect the health of the elderly and whether there are differences in the impact of social capital on the health of different samples of the elderly.Based on the sample data of 1896 people aged 65 and above from the comprehensive social survey data of China in 2015,the health index of the elderly was constructed as dependent variables by factor analysis, and the health of the elderly was analyzed by cross analysis and descriptive statistics. It was found that there were differences in the health status of the elderly in different samples.Using factor analysis to form social capital, cognitive and structural social capital indicators as independent variables, linear regression is used to explore the relationship between social capital and the health of the elderly.the results show that the effect of social capital on the health of the elderly is positive.Orderly regression was used to explore the effects of cognitive and structural social capital on the health of the elderly.the results showed that cognitive social capital positively promoted the mental health and self-assessment health of the elderly.structural social capital promotes the physical, psychological and self-rated health of the elderly.Further use of sub-sample research found that in different gender, age, urban and rural and regional samples, the impact of social capital on the health of the elderlyis different. The results show that the health of the elderly is affected by social demographic characteristics,socio-economic characteristics and social capital. The conclusions are as follows: first, social capital has a positive effect on the health of the elderly;secondly, the effects of cognitive and structural social capital on the health of the elderly are positive, and their effects on the health of the elderly do not have a substitute or complementary relationship;thirdly, there are gender, age, urban and rural and regional differences in the impact of social capital on the health of the elderly.;finally, gender, marital status, political outlook, number of children, income, working status and social class all have a significant impact on the health of the elderly. Therefore,in the process of formulating and implementing relevant policies, the government should fully consider the joint impact of the above three variables for the effectiveness and sustainability of the policy.
