Study On Community Participation Of Relocation-following Old People Into The City Under The Perspective Of Empowerment

With the continuous progress of urbanization in China,the adsorption capacity of cities is becoming stronger and stronger,which intensifies the rapid flow of rural population to cities.The2018 Development Report of China’s Transient Population issued by National Health Commission of China mentioned that the number of transient population in China is declining slowly,but the number of old people is increasing against the trend,among which the group of the relocation-following old people has become one of the main forces in the flow of old people.The flow of the relocation-following old people has its special connotation and significance.Although most of them do not directly produce explicit and direct economic value,it is very important for the development of the city,because they have a special mission and value relocating to the city.According to the author’s research,the motivation of the relocation-following old people’s moving into the city is nothing more than caring for their grandchildren,providing for the aged,working or both.With the arrival of the relocation-following old people,thousands of small urban families have been stabilized,making an important contribution to the harmonious development of the city.However,as a special group,the relocation-following old people are often marginalized easily;especially their spiritual life is often ignored,and there are many obstacles in the community participation,which seriously affect the community adaptation and community integration of the relocation-following old people in rural areas.By the study on the urban community participation of the relocation-following old people through social work,the author hopes to remove all kinds of obstacles in the participation of the urban community of the relocation-following old people,and effectively improve the sense of participation,gain and happiness of the relocation-following old people.This study takes empowerment theory as the theoretical analysis framework,takes the barriers of community participation of the relocation-following old people as the research hypothesis and starting point,and the interview,observation and literature methods are adopted to investigate the community participation of 20 rural relocation-following old people in X community.At the same time,literature reviews and comments are made on the empowerment theory,community participation,the community participation of the relocation-following oldpeople and the community participation of the relocation-following old people with social work.Through investigation and analysis,it is found that relocation-following old people have community participation barriers of being stigmatized,repress potential,being sunk into powerlessness and weakening sense of power.And further from the individual physiological function of the relocation-following old people,the children’s attention and support to the relocation-following old people,the interpersonal support system,the social status and social policy of the relocation-following old people,the paper comprehensively analyzes the influential factors of the urban community participation barriers of the relocation-following old people.Under the guidance of the analysis framework of empowerment theory,the author has systematically,comprehensively and pertinently carried out the practical exploration of social work intervention in the urban community participation of the relocation-following old people by adopting the integrated social work method,hoping to stimulate the potential of community participation of relocation-following old people,alleviate the sense of powerlessness of community participation of relocation-following old people,and improve the sense of power of community participation of relocation-following old people by removing stigma,so as to provide professional social work services for individuals,groups,organizations and communities of relocation-following old people.Then the paper evaluates the practice and research process from two dimensions of process and effect.Finally,a deep summary and reflection are made on the involvement of social work in the urban community participation of the relocation-following old people from the perspective of empowerment.The study shows that it is applicable and feasible to apply the empowerment theory to the practical exploration of social work intervention in the community participation of relocation-following old people in the city;as for the practical intervention strategies and processes of community participation for relocation-following old people,social work is successful and effective,and the service effect is also very obvious.It effectively improves the self-confidence and self-efficacy of the community participation of relocation-following old people,establishes the sense of ownership of the community participation of relocation-following old people,and increases the sense of community participation,belonging and acquisition of relocation-following old people.The author hopes that this study can provide some useful experiences and enlightenment for the social work involved in the study of the urban community participation of relocation-following old people.
