Based on the in-depth investigation of Huayuanzhuang village in Anyang city,Henan province, and the oral investigation of several local village households, this paper focuses on the basic questions of what kind of changes have taken place in the village’s traditional marriage and childbearing customs under the background of strong state political intervention during the collectivization period, what is the logic and essence of this change, and what is the relationship between this change and the previous one,and on this basis,it probes deeply into the break and continuation of the social customs as the extermalization form of Chinese traditional civilization under the political intervention during the collectivization period.Marriage and childbearing,as an important social behavior that reflects the transformation of internal relations among family members in rural society,is also,to a certain extent,a behavior process with "premarital love-marriage process-post-marital birth" as the link.In this process, rural family members generally experienced the choice and coexistence of new people before marriage, the acceptance and declaration of new people at marriage and the birth and maintenance of future generations after marriage, and thus formed a set of "marriage and child-rearing customs." This paper is around the"marriage and child-rearing custom" as a social behavior of the transformation logic, for the three links included in the study and discussion. With regard to the villagers’premarital love contacts, this article mainly discusses the dual changes that the villagers have shown in the process of love under the government’s political propaganda and intervention, which is dominated by "breaking down the old and establishing the new".On the one hand, the state’s clear resistance to the feudal decadent "old" ideas of struggle in the political propaganda has led to a change in the villagers’ concept of love and the gradual consolidation of the new state power in all aspects of the village society. On the other hand,it is diffficult for the villagers to completely abandon the traditional education for a long time,so in the process of "dilapidation",they have made adaptive "innovation"to the traditional love links that have not been strictly eliminated. In the process of villagers’ marriage, this article, based on the social background of the "poor and poor"after the founding of new China, mainly discusses the transformation process of the gradual politicization and legalization of rural wedding arrangements. In this process, with the gradual maturity of the national collectivization construction, the rural wedding-related processes have also developed and changed with obvious political factors and revolutionary colors.Although this kind of marriage process has a great difference in external performance compared with the traditional one,its transformation is still closely related to the Chinese civilization embodied in the current policies. As for the related links of village women’s marriage, this article holds that villagers are gradually entering a state of collectivized life during the collectivization period. The establishment of related infrastructure and various care policies for mothers and children have gradually transformed the villagers’ traditional family-type birth and celebration activities into a collective-type birth mode. However, there are some untransformed traditional links(such as naming offspring according to their generations),and the combination of the two has also produced a"new" fashion of marriage and childbearing.Based on this, the conclusion reached in this paper is:in the traditional period, the rural society has long formed a relatively complete "self-generating order",and the vast majority of farmers’ behavior habits are based on this, and marriage and childbearing customs are no exception. However, with the establishment of the new regime, the development of collectivization, and the strong political intervention in order to build a"new style of marriage and childbearing" in line with the development of the country, the inherent strength of the "self-generated order" makes the marriage and childbearing customs in rural areas finally present a dual dimension of rupture and continuation, namely,a complete rupture of the decayed feudal objects that are at odds with the revolutionary regime and a continuous expression of the traditional political civilization consistent with the consolidation of the regime.
