Construction Of China’s National Image From The Perspective Of Public Diplomacy

The national image,as a comprehensive assessment of the political,economic,and cultural aspects of a country by the public at home and abroad,has already become one of the indispensable components of a country’s soft power and is an intangible asset of a sovereign country.Since the reform and opening up,China’s hard power development can be said to have made rapid progress,and now it has become the world’s second largest economy,second only to the United States’ existence,but the development of soft power has become a shortcoming for China to strive for greater benefits.Developed countries headed by the United States felt the threat from China,worried that China’s rise would undermine today’s international order,and frequently exported the“China threat theory”to the international community.He’s embarrassed.Nowadays,with the gradual stabilization of China’s economy,China attaches more and more importance to the construction of soft power,and the issue of the construction of China’s image has also been put on the agenda.As a complement to traditional diplomatic methods,public diplomacy has a unique advantage in building a national image as a new diplomatic tool.The emergence of the global financial crisis in 2008 allowed the world to see China’s huge economic potential.Countries around the world began to value China’s advantages in stabilizing the world economy,which is both an opportunity and a challenge for China.Since then,more and more eyes have been set on China,and the expectations of the international community for China have become higher and higher.After the appearance of the Sino-US trade war,foreign media began to distort China’s image by various means.How should China establish its own positive image in such accusations and let the international community see a real China problem.This article mainly summarizes the current evaluation of China by the international community,combined with China’s own positioning of China’s image,summarizes China’s deficiencies and challenges in establishing a positive national image,and puts forward some suggestions for these contents.In other words,the government supports the development of domestic and foreign media,accelerates the construction of a friendly and hard-working Chinese image,and moves out of the embarrassing situation of Chinese image.At the same time,every citizen should also pay attention to improving his own quality and strive to establish a good image of China.
