The Politicization Of The European Debt Crisis And The European Policy Of Eu Member States

The politicization of European issue is a new research hotspot.Foreign scholars have done much research,while this issue has not been studied pretty well in China.The politicization of European issue refers to domestic political actors mobilize the public to concern,take part in and promote controversy in EU policymaking.This paper foucused on the impportant European issue,the European debt crises,and took UK,France and Germany faced with the European debt crisis as examples,and discussed about the relationship between the politicization of European issue and the European policy of member states.The key issues of this paper include three aspects.Firstly,after the member states’ negotiation of European debt crisis resolution,how would the decision on the inter-state negotiations about the European debt crisis resolutions be politicized in EU member states.Secondly,what’s the affections of the politicization of European issue after the European debt crisis,especially for the member’s European policies.Thidly,how will the politicization of European issue influence EU integration.This paper held that the politicization of European issue includes four factors,the prominence of European issues in the general election,the attitude of main political parties about EU integration,the domestic political system(whether allow a referendum or not),degree of public support about the EU(public attitudes about European integration and EU governance).The politicization of European issue will have different impacts on the member states’ European policies.The opinion that post-functionalism held,saying the politicization of European issue will bad for EU integration is limited.The politicization of European issue may have negative impacts on EU integration,but we should also notice that it can bring new opportunities.
