Philosophy is a "living" knowledge,it asks the deepest problems in life. Both China and the West are interlinked in theory.Chinese traditional thought also has the“metaphysical” knowledge of thinking about "what is" in the west, but the way of thinking is different.Ye Xiushan believes that philosophy should be interdisciplinary. The academic task is to understand the differences in depth and to explore the same path in difference. There are differences in similarities, similarities in differences, and“penetration” in them.Ye Xiushan wants to carry forward the tradition of Chinese philosophy and put China on the world scale to talk about academic issues, which promotes the “convergence and harmony” of Chinese and Western cultures,so that Western philosophers had an inherently welcoming attitude towards the concept of Chinese traditional philosophy. After turning to the study of Chinese philosophy,Ye Xiushan took the Analects, the Doctrine of the Mean,Master Lao,Master Zhuang and Buddhist sutras as the subject to grasp the philosophical principles of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism respectively. He also inspired people to think about the similar core concepts between Chinese Philosophy and Western Philosophy from the text.Starting from the relationship between “learning” and “practice” in The Analects,Ye Xiushan discusses the cognitive difference between China and the West in the content of learning and the function of practice, considering the way from theory to practice of inner sagelihood and outer kingliness is worth learning from the West.It is also realized in The Great Learning that the key to achieving "the highest excellent" of individual’s moral ideal lies in “knowing rest”.In Hegel’s words, this idea is not suspended but active, which needs to be externalized;Ye Xiushan holds that the Doctrine of the Mean on human nature and the enlightenment of the Way,as well as Consideration of Others in the process of the highest excellent and complete sincerity reflect the Way of Mean, which enables people to find their own position in the relative relationship. In the study of Taoism and Buddhism, combining the Way of Lao-Zhuang with Heidegger’s “Sein”,Ye Xiushan believes the “Way” is nameless and simple, empty and real. The emptiness of the “Way” is to make everything natural and make itself in the “equilibrium” of variability.Only after success and retirement can we be happy and free, and finally maintain the most probable "penetration".He believes that Buddhism should cut off all the name and phenomenon world generated by“knowledge, emotions and consciousness”,and realize that there is no individual nature.Ye Xiushan use Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am” to explain why it is necessary to get rid of “I grasp” and end all transmigration in Nirvana. We read the ancient books to learn how their creative spirit was embodied.Openness is seeking innovation and cultivating new life on the basis of the existing culture.Ye Xiushan follows the principle and path of these ancient books and guides the dialogue in different objects and backgrounds.Through the inspiration and openness of the texts,Chinese and Western cultures can communicate on the same level across time and space.“Come out of yourselves and meet others”,enriching yourselves with each other in exchanging what you need, which will maintain the“integration and harmony” of Chinese and Western cultures.,thus enhancing the theoretical value and practical significance of the tradition of Chinese philosophy on the road of Western thought.
