The "Relentless Storm" is a classical opera from the opera "Yimeng Mountain",which tells the touching story of the Yimeng Mountain area during the war against Japan, where the military and the people made common cause, lived and died together, suffered together, and loved each other. In this opera, the main character Haitang’s grief and rapid growth after her uncle’s sacrifice are presented in simple language. The cantata inherits the essence of traditional opera, but also has the characteristics of the new era opera, with high artistic value and rich spiritual connotation. The lyrics are simple and concise, using metaphors, repetition, prose and other rhetorical techniques;the singing requires a full and powerful breath, clear and rounded bite,a high degree of unity in voice position, and an infectious flow of tone. The song shows the noble character of love and hate, and reflects the great Yimeng spirit and patriotism. In this paper,we study the musical characteristics, emotions and singing methods based on our own singing practice and video analysis, hoping to provide some reference for the interpretation of this song.
