| The figure paintings of Zhong Kui have a profound historical origin.Due to the story nature of the subject matter,they have obvious particularity and broad research space in the history of Chinese art.This article focuses on the freehand Zhongkui-themed figure paintings from the early Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,and focuses on the relationship between Chinese Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism and the freehand Zhongkui-themed paintings,focusing on the prosperity of the development of freehand figure paintings from the early Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China in China.period.The article is divided into four parts.Through the literature index and the analysis of the works,it explores the origin of the Chinese freehand Zhong Kui subject figure painting,the specific expression of the subject matter,the secularization process of Zhong Kui’s image,and the connotation of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism contained in the works.This paper selects several freehand Zhongkui-themed painters who are the most representative and have a large number of works from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,such as Gao Qipei in the early Qing Dynasty,Hua Yan,Huang Shen,Li Fangying and Luo Pin in the middle Qing Dynasty,and Luo Pin in the late Qing Dynasty.The figure paintings of Zhong Kui by Ren Bonian,Wu Changshuo and Wang Zhen were sorted out and compared.The emphasis of Zhong Kui’s themes expressed in different social times and backgrounds is also different.Most of the individual painters’ Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism philosophical thoughts in different periods are combined,but only partially reflected in the paintings.Taking the Chinese cultural background as a reference,this paper explores the different Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism philosophical thoughts embodied in the freehand Zhongkui figure paintings,and then analyzes and researches from the specific perspective of painting.From the early Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the freehand Zhong Kui-themed figure paintings were influenced by Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in different stages from their formation and from maturity to golden age.On the other hand,the changes of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism have also been impacted and influenced by social and cultural trends of thought.Specifically,from the perspective of painting,it is necessary to explain the embodiment of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in freehand Zhongkui’s figure paintings.focus.After the Qing Dynasty,the philosophical thoughts of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in the freehand paintings of Zhong Kui began to merge with their external images.The brush and ink skills,composition forms and aesthetic tendencies of freehand Zhongkui’s figure paintings under the influence of commodity economy,different painting expression techniques and the reflection of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in freehand Zhongkui’s paintings are all worthy of the author’s research,elaboration and discussion. |
