Against the backdrop of new era,the manifestations of painting and film are not only limited to the representation of reality in traditional senses,but also lead people to shift from a language-centered culture to an image-centered culture with the help of technology.Along with the integration of technological products,such as mobile phones and Internet,with our daily life,the image-centered manifestation has penetrated into all aspects of life,people covering by images more closely.Images can convey emotions and express ideas.At present,images also have more narrative and symbolic functions,and reflect the critical thinking of artists.Although painting,one of the eight art forms,existed earlier than film art,the spread scope of film has gradually surpassed that of traditional art forms due to its interdisciplinary nature and more intensive expressions.Therefore,to a certain extent,the influences of film on contemporary society and culture are far greater than that of painting.From the point of view of expression forms,the visual manifestations of painting and film are different,which are static and dynamic respectively.While in terms of elements such as picture,light,composition,space,and emotion,the aesthetic principles that they uphold have a lot in common.Specifically,both painting and film include the exploration of society and human nature,and the speculation of philosophy.In terms of forms and principles of aesthetic,film is in line with painting.From such perspective,this thesis will explore the integration between film and painting,and the evolution of visual languages between contemporary painting and art film.
