Quantifiers are a part of speech with national characteristics in Chinese,It is divided into dedicated quantifiers and temporary quantifiers.Container quantifier is an important part of temporary quantifier,It is an important subclass in the quantifier system.With the increasing popularity of Chinese learning in the world,Teaching Chinese as a foreign language needs to be continuously expanded and deepened,As an important part of container quantifiers,the research on container quantifiers and their research on teaching Chinese as a foreign language becomes more and more important.English has no quantifiers,It is difficult for foreign students whose native language is English to learn quantifiers.However,there are table measure words corresponding to Chinese measure words in English.therefore,this paper will study the container quantifier,through the comparative analysis of general quantifiers and container quantifiers,as well as Chinese container quantifiers and English container quantifiers,discover the characteristics of container quantifiers,therefore,some suggestions are put forward for the teaching of container quantifiers in Chinese as a foreign language.This thesis is divided into five parts:The first chapter is the introduction,First,clarify the theoretical and practical significance of the selected topic:It can enrich the study of Chinese quantifiers,to better guide the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Then introduce the research background,organize literature reviews,summarize the research status of container quantifiers and their Chinese as a foreign language in academic circles.There are few research monographs on container quantifiers,usually mentioned in the study of temporary quantifiers and noun quantifiers,here we mainly sort out previous researches on container quantifiers,research focus,lack of research.In addition,the main achievements of the research on quantifier teaching in Chinese as a foreign language based on the comparison of Chinese and English.The second chapter is a comparative analysis of Chinese container quantifiers and general quantifiers.Combined with the previous understanding of container quantifiers,try to define container quantifiers.Through research,it is found that compared with general quantifiers,container quantifiers have internal use unbalanced and openness in addition to collection,volume,and weighing ambiguity.The third chapter first analyzes the definition and classification of English container quantifiers,and then compares and analyzes the characteristics,scale structure,syntax,semantics and pragmatic characteristics of Chinese and English container quantifiers.The analysis found that English and Chinese container quantifiers are more prominent than the three-dimensional type;The structure of using container quantifiers in Chinese and English reflects that the thinking order and process of Chinese and English languages are roughly the same;The structure of Chinese and English container quantifiers can be expanded,but English has richer modifiers and more flexible positions;Chinese container quantifier table quantity structure can be inverted,with accounting function,for example: "pi jiu yi ping",no flip structure in English.The fourth chapter designs a questionnaire survey for native English-speaking Chinese learners with intermediate Chinese proficiency based on the results of the previous analysis.Analyze the results of the questionnaire and analyze the types and causes of bias.Analysis of the questionnaire found that the main types of students’ errors were as follows:Misuse of grammatical or grammatical quantifiers;Unused or garbled quantifiers;Incorrect use of quantifier grammar rules;logical bias;Noun and quantifier conversion errors.The reasons why students make mistakes are:Teachers do not pay enough attention to container quantifiers,and their teaching level is limited;Class lectures are too isolated and unsystematic,Lack of practice assignments;Insufficient arrangement of container quantifiers in textbooks,no contact with each other,Unable to meet student needs.The reasons for learning are:interference with knowledge of English language;negative Transfer of Chinese Knowledge;students with low vocabulary.The five chapter is about teaching strategies for container quantifiers for native English speakers.The teaching of container quantifiers in Chinese as a foreign language should further improve the ontology research of Chinese container quantifiers;Strengthening the comparative analysis of Chinese container quantifiers and their corresponding expressions in English;enrich the setting of container quantifiers in teaching materials;strengthening the emphasis on the teaching of container quantifiers;create an atmosphere of Chinese knowledge and culture.
