Pointillism is a form of painting in which color points are juxtaposed.But stipple and pointillism cannot be confused.Stipple covers a wider range and is mainly used in ceramics,paper-cutting,batik,three-dimensional animation,computer graphics and image technology and so on.Pointillism is the most representative academic school using pointillism.This paper starts with the painting form of "dot",combines the color segmentation theory to discuss the color reconstruction,and deeply analyzes the reason for the visual reconstruction.At the same time,many artists in different periods also applied this principle to their own works,creating different forms of pointillism paintings.The main purpose of this thesis is to interpret the art language of pointillism and appreciate the beauty of pointillism.This paper is mainly divided into four parts,the first part is the formation of pointillism art language,the second part is the abstract visual elements in pointillist art language,it is divided into two chapters,one is the expression of brushstrokes based on "point",and the rational expression in color language;the third part analyzes the artistic language of Pointillism from the form of symmetry,balance,rhythm and cadence,and analyzes the charm of Pointillism through representative artists and their works;in the last part of the article,introduce my creative practice of pointillism language and my perception of pointillism art language.Through the analysis and comparison of multiple legends and my own use of pointillism in watercolor,this paper further concludes that pointillism artistic language has important significance in watercolor creation,which not only makes the expression space of pointillism wider,but also broadens the road to watercolor creation.
