The Musical Style Characteristics And Singing Analysis Of “Goddess Of Chastity” In Opera “Norma”

Vincenzo Bellini was a master of opera during the Italian Romantic period,who produced a large amount of famous opera works."Goddess of Chastity" is an aria in Bellini’s late opera composition which becomes an important carrier of Italian national opera works because its romantic features: a sensual and beautiful melody and distinctive characters.This paper takes aria "Goddness of Chastity" in the opera "Norma" as the esearch object,and analyze it by starting from its characteristics of musical works and singing skill.This paper will further analyze the characteristics of work and singing of "Goddness of Chastity",in order to interpret the cultural connotation and artistic expression of the work on a deeper layer.This paper consists of four aspects: 1.The introduction of Bellini’s life as a composer,including his composition style and the backrgound he composed the aria.It provides a preliminary realization of the ideological source of the work.2.The musical characteristics analysis of the aria "Goddness of Chastity" by summarizing its composition,harmony,accompaniment,texture,pronunciation,and other factors to explore the composition characteristics.3.The analysis of the aria in different singing versions,which extract the singing characteristics and ccumulate singing experience from the different interpretations.4.The analysis of self-singing and the difficulties while singing the aria "Goddness of Chastity".Through the point-to-point way,this paper obtains a summary of the major difficulties in the singing process.Moreover,this paper explores a more vivid singing method of this musical work by effective analysis in order to enhance the control of singing skill and emotional experience.
