A Comparative Study On The Development Of Modern Watercolor Painting In China And Japan

Watercolor painting was introduced into the east from the West and has made great progress in China and Japan.It has integrated with its own traditional culture and formed a self-contained watercolor development system.Chinese watercolor painting has gone through the embryonic period,growth period,formation period,modern deepening and innovation period,while Japanese watercolor painting has gone through the introduction period,exploration period,recession period and expansion period.In these periods,representative Watercolor Painters and works have emerged.By combing the development context of modern watercolor painting in China and Japan,this paper analyzes the evolution process of the development of watercolor painting in the two countries in stages,From this,we can get the similarities in the development of watercolor painting between China and Japa,and the differences in style,material selection and techniques,and further analyze the influence of painting tradition,regional factors and social culture.Finally,through the comparison of the differences in the development of modern watercolor painting between China and Japan,we can get the enlightenment to the creation,education,inheritance and innovation of contemporary Chinese watercolor painting.
