Writing reflects the language application ability of foreign language learners,has an important part of language learning.Continuation writing task is a new type of writing,educators and learners have seen it as an important challenge,so how to teach and learn it has become generally concerned research of teachers and students.At present,many professional teachers have begun to carry out in-depth research on the continuation writing task from the theoretical aspect,but there is still a lack of empirical research on specific and effective teaching methods.Therefore,the purpose of this thesis is to discuss the specific teaching method,Mind Mapping,and explore the impacts of the mind mapping method in the teaching of English in senior high school in the field of continuation writing task,to discuss the following question:1.Whether mind mapping improve students’ ability of continuation writing task?If so,in which aspects?2.How does mind mapping improve students’ ability of continuation writing task?The author chooses two parallel classes as the research objects of grade two,a total of 60 students.At the beginning of the experiment,it is proved that there is no significant difference in the sores of writing between the two objects that are divided into experimental class and control class.During a semester of experiment teaching,the experimental class uses mind mapping to teach writing,while the control class only uses the traditional writing method for writing.In the post-test,drawing conclusions by analyzing the results of the two classes scores: the class used the mind mapping method is significantly higher than that of the class not used the mind mapping method.Combined with the way of interview,it is embodied in the three aspects of enhancing their understanding of reading materials,the arrangement of stories,and the right use of coherence words.From the above results,it can be seen that the mind mapping method is an effective writing method that continues to be used in later teaching.Moreover,through this study,we also get some useful teaching enlightenment for subsequent teaching:Firstly,teachers should attach importance to the use of mind mapping in the future teaching of the continuation writing task;Secondly,the continuation writing task teaching should be associated with textbooks and teaching materials;Finally,teachers should strive to find teaching methods to improve the continuation writing task,and pay attention to balance the relationship of teaching and practice in writing teaching.
