The Second Suite for Two Pianos,Op.17,was created in 1900 and is one of Rachmaninoff’s representative works at the peak of his creation, and one of his only two works for two pianos. This work consists of four movements, the first movement Prelude, the second movement Waltz, the third movement Romance, and the fourth movement Tarantella. The structure of the four movements in the whole piece is neat, and each movement is interrelated and has its own characteristics. The first movement uses chord connections to promote the melody, the second movement uses granular running as the main performance technique, the third movement is an adagio movement with the whole piece as one,and the fourth movement dominates the character with a unique dance music style. The four movements with different styles are self-contained,which can be played alone or as a suite, which fully reflects the mature and domineering style of Rach’s creation. As a performance form of piano art,the double piano has a history of hundreds of years.Since the 18 th century,Western composers have created such works.Compared with a solo, using two pianos to perform a work together is richer and more magnificent in terms of texture and sound effects. The biggest difficulty for two people to complete the same work is unity.Rachmaninoff’s "Second Suite for Two Pianos" Op.17 This work uses a lot of the same rhythm patterns in the first and second piano parts, which tests the tacit understanding of both players.degree.How to achieve the unity of sound and timbre, the processing and control of rhythm, the analysis of phrases and passages, etc.,are the key points of this work.In the research of this paper, the original Russian national version of the score is used as a reference to study the interpretation method of the double piano by borrowing and analyzing the performance version of the pianist, and combining its own experience,to explore the performance and cooperation of this work.
