Since 2018,the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology of Jilin Province and Jilin University have formed an archaeological survey team for Paleolithic sites and started a special archaeological survey activity for the Paleolithic in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture,Jilin Province.In the following years,relevant remains in the Changbai Mountain area were meticulously studied,filling in the chronological framework to a certain extent.Among them,11 specimens were collected in the 2018 survey at Site I of the Xinxing site,and 131 specimens were surveyed and test excavated in 2019,totaling 142 specimens.In this paper,we mainly analyze and organize the stone products excavated and collected from Site Ⅰ of the Xinxing site in Wangqing,Jilin,in 2018 and 2019,and study the state of stone tool raw material utilization and human knapping technology through the analysis of stone product raw material types,flaking technology,and artifact characteristics,which are used to reveal its cultural landscape and industrial characteristics and improve the chronological framework and overall appearance of Paleolithic sites in the Changbai Mountain area.The stone artifacts from this site are most notable for their blade and microblade technologies,which provide important materials for the cultural landscape of ancient humans from the Late Pleistocene to the Holocene in the northeast and complete the chronological sequence of ancient human sites in the Changbai mountain region. |
