| Marcuse,like Marx,was very concerned about the survival and development of human beings,and devoted his life to the cause of human emancipation.His reinterpretation of human emancipation indeed created a new path for human emancipation in some aspects and provided nourishment for the comprehensive development of our people in the new era,which is the most valuable part in his emancipation theory.Yet,at the same time,the immature part of his theory also makes it unable to withstand the test both in theory and practice.This article systematically composes and discusses Marcuse’s emancipation mind,attempting to excavate the deeper essence of it,and makes a dialectical comment on it from the perspective of Marxism,in order to highlight its profound theoretical value and practical guiding significance.The full paper consists of five main parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the background of the thesis research and the current status of domestic and international research;outlines the research ideas and research methods of the thesis;and points out the innovations and shortcomings of the thesis.The second part introduces the social background and theoretical origin of Marcuse’s emancipation mind.With the rapid development of capitalist economy after World War II,technical rationality manipulates various fields in the society.Society became a ‘sick society of affluence’ and man became a ‘one-way man’.Marcuse absorbed Heidegger’s ontological philosophy,Marx’s liberation theory and Freud’s psychoanalysis to rethink people’s way of life.The third part elaborates on the theoretical composition of Marcuse’s emancipation mind,mainly discussing its substance and objective,main force and conception of the path.Firstly,Marcuse redefined the nature of human beings as lust.So the essence of his emancipation mind is the liberation of lust,and he hoped to establish a non-repressive civilized society.Secondly,on the question of whom to rely on for liberation,Marcuse denied the revolutionary nature of the proletariat and placed the burden of liberation on the New Left and young intellectuals.Finally,regarding how to realize the liberation of human beings,Marcuse gave an interpretation from the perspectives of human labor,human and nature,and aesthetics.The fourth part is a dialectical assessment of Marcuse’s emancipation mind from the standpoint of Marxist philosophy.Marcuse’s emancipation thought is both reasonable and limited.He inherited and developed Marx’s humanist spirit and the idea of natural emancipation,and his unique critical perspective provides a new idea for us to understand Marx’s emancipation theory in a deeper level.But at the same time his misunderstanding of the nature of man,his denial of the revolutionary nature of the proletariat and his deviation from historical materialism put him in a theoretical dilemma.The fifth part explores the contemporary value of Marcuse’s emancipation mind.Both in theory and in practice,this theory provides a way of thinking about the all-round development of our people.At the theoretical level,it deepens the understanding of the meaning of comprehensive human development,promotes the understanding of the concept of ecological civilization construction and strengthens our understanding of the value of culture and art;at the practical level,it suggests that we should adhere to the people-centered strategy,stick to the harmonious coexistence of people and nature,and insist on advancing the construction of spiritual civilization in the new era.Throughout his life,Marcuse has been trying to carry out a humanistic Marxist interpretation as a new weapon to criticize the developed industrial society.From a Marxist standpoint,a critical reference to Marcuse’s idea of human emancipation can provide ideological inspiration and direction for the construction of socialism in China in the new era. |
