| To enrich the research results of the ice and snow tourism discourse,this paper selects the Ice and Snow World in Harbin,a famous ice and snow tourism city in China,and Santa Claus Village,a famous scenic spot in Lapland,Finland,as the research objects.The research mainly adopts the corpus-assisted discourse analysis method to analyze and summarize the construction and perception of the image of the two scenic spots by the official operators and foreign tourists.The corpus selection is as follows: 1)select the introduction of the two places from the international official website,and 2)select the real tourists’ reviews of the two places from the international website Yingtu(www.Trip Advisor.com).By using wmatrix5 to label its semantic domain and analyze it,this paper focuses on the following three questions:(1)What kind of image of ice and snow tourist destination has been constructed respectively by the publicity of the official discourse of Harbin Ice and snow world and Santa Claus Village?(2)By analyzing the tourists’ reviews on Tripadvisor,what kind of ice and snow tourism image have tourists constructed?(3)What are the similarities and differences between the images of the ice and snow tourist resorts constructed by the official publicity and tourists’ reviews?The research found that:(1)The official operator of Harbin Ice and Snow World has shaped its tourism image into a dream world with ice and snow parks,enthusiastic services,diverse arts,diverse snow sports,and various entertainment activities.Operators have built the Santa Claus Village tourism image as an animal-friendly resort with a rich history and culture,a Christmas theme,letter and postcard writing services,a shopping paradise,a variety of accommodation styles,summer features,and local specialties.(2)Tourists from Harbin Ice and snow world have a high awareness of the image of "ice sculpture,cold weather,and ice and snow festival",and have high expectations for a convenient transportation and a hygienic environment.The cognition of tourists in Santa Claus Village to the scenic spot includes Santa Claus,lovely animals,many scenic spots suitable for taking photos,writing letters and sending postcards,and many shops.(3)The tourism destination image constructed by the official operators of Harbin Ice and snow world is similar to the image received by tourists,including "cold climate and ice and snow festival".The differences mainly include: the lack of information such as summer travel guide,hygiene situation,price,transportation,food,and restaurants on the official website;Tourists have not experienced various art forms,enthusiastic services,a comprehensive ice and snow paradise,various types of snow sports and so on.For Santa Claus Village,similarities include "Christmas,animal-friendly scenic spots,postcards,and many shops".The difference lies in: the official website lacks the introduction of food and restaurants,transportation routes,and price information;Tourists do not experience diversified styles of accommodation,featured attractions,and historical and cultural backgrounds,etc.The practical significance of this paper is to find out the problems existing in the operation and publicity of Ice and Snow World and Santa Claus Village,to provide some opinions and suggestions,to contribute to the development of ice and snow tourism in China. |
