Semantic Network Research Related To “Si”from Cognitive Perspective

As a word used frequently in Chinese,the phenomenon of polysemy of "death" deserves attention.We believe that the semantic derivation of "death" is based on human physical experience in the objective world and realized under the action of image schema,metaphor mechanism and metonymy mechanism.From the perspective of cognitive linguistics,this paper analyzes the semantic and syntactic characteristics of multiple meanings of "death",and uses prototype theory,conceptual metaphor theory,conceptual metonymy theory and image schema theory to explore the semantic derivation path and motivation of "death",so as to cons TRuct the semantic network of "death" in modern Chinese.The architecture of this paper is as follows:The first chapter is the in TRoduction,which mainly explains the origin of the topic,research object,research purpose,relevant research review,main theories,research methods and corpus sources in detail.In the relevant research review part,we combed the syntactic characteristics of "death",the "x death" format,the "x death" format and the virtual TRack of the format.In the main theoretical part,it explains the semantic network theory,conceptual metaphor,conceptual metonymy and image schema theory under cognitive linguistics,and establishes the research direction and rationale of this paper through the previous research results and theoretical support.The second chapter mainly explores the meaning and syntactic expression of "death".Firstly,sort out the interpretation of "death" in the reference book,compare it with many parties,and then take the seven meanings listed in the modern Chinese Dictionary（7th Edition）and the additional three meanings as the research object of this section.Secondly,it analyzes the semantic components of the co-occurrence of "death" under the ten meanings,and ex TRacts the semantic features of "death" on this basis,so as to pave the way for further explaining the relationship and derivative mechanism between various semantics.In addition,investigating the syntactic features of "death" under different meanings is helpful to distinguish the grammatical distinctive features of "death" with different meanings.The third chapter mainly explores the "dead" semantic network model and its generation mechanism.From a cognitive perspective,combined with the image schema theory,this paper analyzes the internal logic of action meaning,degree meaning,modality meaning and TRait meaning derived from the prototype meaning of "death",explains the path and rationale of the semantic evolution of "death" through metaphor mechanism and metonymy mechanism,and TRies to cons TRuct the semantic network model of "death".The fourth chapter mainly explores the semantic and pragmatic functions of the three cons TRuctions in the "x is dead" cons TRuction group.The polysemy of the word "death" is closely related to the cons TRuction meaning.
