Research On The Relationship Between Hegel’s Concept Of Heroic Age And His Aesthetic Thoughts

The heroic age has always been an important topic in Western philosophy and aesthetics.The meaning of the word hero has been constantly evolving from ancient Greece to the present.People’s attitude of heroes change from blindly believing in heroes to deconstructing heroes.This change allows the concept of heroes to be complicated.Therefore,this article put forward Hegel’s heroic age discourse again,and connects Hegel’s discourse on the heroic age with Hegel’s aesthetic thought system,and tries to rethink Hegel’s discourse on the Hero age and explain the aesthetic thought system that Hegel’s heroic age embodies.In general,hero not only has its mainstream meaning in each period,but also is interpreted by various thinkers into different meanings in the same period.Hegel is a thinker with unique understanding of the heroic age.At the end of the eighteenth century,the ideological system and theoretical system of German classical aesthetics emerged.As a member of German classical aesthetics,Hegel is not only the last thinker of German classical aesthetics,but also the person who pushed German classical aesthetics to the peak.His aesthetic thought is full of dialectics and historical development view,which has unique value.Regarding the heroic age,Hegel made a special academic discussion in his aesthetic works.Hegel’s explanatory discourse and corresponding thesis on the heroic age are not only closely connected with the Western motif of hero,but also closely connected with Hegel’s whole aesthetic thought system.Therefore,this article will launches a systematic interpretation and discussion on the internal connection between the Hegel’s heroic age and its aesthetic thoughts again,in order to achieve not only a deeper understanding of the Hegel’s heroic age,but also the entire aesthetic ideological system of Hegel.On the above base,this paper will further analyzes and studies the relationship between Hegel’s concept of heroic age and his aesthetic thought system.Even today,the research on the discourse of Heroic Age has its corresponding theoretical and practical significance.Based on this,this article mainly uses textual hermeneutics and dialectical historical views to unfold the core idea of Hegel’s heroic age,and to study the logical relationship between the heroic age that he proposed and his aesthetic thought.This article is divided into three parts.The first part focuses on the history of the concept of hero in west countries.The history is mainly about the hero’s meaning changing from god to man,from object to subject,and from country to individual.The second part focuses on the relationship between Hegel’s heroic age and his entire aesthetic system that unfolds around the core idea that is beauty is the emotional manifestation of concept,in particular,researches the relationship between Hegel’s concept of heroic age and the three art types that are symbolic art,ancient typical art and romantic art.The third part discusses the uniqueness of Hegel’s heroic age.The dialectical thought and idea of historical development of Hegel’s concept theory of heroic age and Hegel’s aesthetic thought system constitute the inherent logical unity of this airticle.And in this chapter,writer will disguss the achievements and limitations of Hegel’s heroic age aesthetics.
